I am at a loss here. So I have been dialiung in my new Ender 3 Max Neo for almost 3 days. Had great prints from the first demo spool they give, then it ran out mid print, I replaced with Creality black PLA, and I have had to throw everything I have tried to print so far. I have leveled, adjusted, checked belts and gantrys, but its always something.

Now, I had a perfect rabbit print, went to print a larger low poly skull, and got massive layer shift halfway through the print. Both halves are smooth AF, but its like someone slid the top half almost half an inch. I am in the process of re-leveling the bed, but does anyone have any other ideas? List of items done so far below.

Adjusted nozzle and bed temps (due to lack of adhesion at first)
Auto leveled
manually leveled bed
checked and tightened belts
validated bed and gantry are level with bubble level

I also just printed 9 2x2 squares to check leveling, and they all looked good, except for the middle bottom one, which was serverly messed up. Not sure if thats a leveling thing, or something else entirely.

Please put me out of my misery.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your 3D printer. Layer shifting can occur due to various reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Ensure your printer is on a level surface: Any slight tilting or instability could lead to layer shifting, especially with larger prints.

  2. Check for loose belts: Make sure that the belts responsible for moving the print head and bed are properly tensioned. Loose belts can cause the print head to move improperly and result in layer shifting.

  3. Verify proper alignment of the gantry: Ensure that the gantry is aligned and moves smoothly along the vertical rails. Tighten any loose screws or connections.

  4. Confirm the slicer settings: Check your slicing software settings to ensure they are appropriate for the filament you're using. Verify that the layer height, print speed, and temperature settings are compatible with your filament and printer.

  5. Inspect the stepper motor drivers: Overheating stepper motor drivers ...
