#X gantry V wheels much tighter at the top, loose at the bottom of Z axis.

It sounds like you have already taken several troubleshooting steps to address your z banding issue. Tightening the v wheels at the top is a common solution to reduce the z-axis wobble. However, it seems that despite your efforts, the problem persists. If your lead screws are straight and not bent, it's unlikely that replacing them will solve the issue.
That being said, there are a few more things you can try before considering purchasing new parts. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps:
-
Check your stepper motor drivers: Ensure that the stepper motor drivers are properly set and provide enough current to the motors. Adjusting the current may help in reducing z banding.
-
Lubricate your lead screws: Apply a thin layer of lubricant to the lead screws to minimize any friction between the threads and the nuts.
-
Check the alignment of the lead screw nuts: Make sure that the lead screw nuts are properly aligned and not binding. Adjust or replace them if necessary.

What's the printer?
Printer is an Ender 3 S1 Plus, I've had it for 8 months or so.
Sadly got it about a month before sv06 plus released..
Haven't used this one, but on most V wheel printers these screw holes have a little slop for adjustability, you need to loosen these screws just a bit, twist the plate to engage the upper wheel more and tighten these screws
X gantry V wheels much tighter at the top, loose at the bottom of Z axis.
I may have worded this a bit wrong, I mean when the X gantry is at the top of the Z axis every wheel is nearly impossible to spin.
But when the X gantry is right above the print bed the wheels are very easy to spin.
Ah, I see
Loosen the screws holding the extrusion on top, move gantry to the top and then tighten these screws
I've tried this before but I will try again.
This means that the frame isn't square, you can try to force it into alignment
How would I do that?
Just tried this again, same issue.
Which wheels are tight at the top? Outer or inner ones?
Outer ones, inner ones are the opposite for some reason.
Inner ones are loose at the top, tight at the bottom.
Okay, so you can move the gantry down, then loosen the screws for the top extrusion on one side, make sure vertical extrusion it was screwed to can wiggle and then push it all the way towards the inside, tighten the screws while pushing it in to make sure it's as close to the inside as possible. Repeat for the other side.
If this doesn't work, it's possible that it can be fixed by doing the opposite on the bottom (pulling the vertical extrusion out instead of pulling it in)
Okay I'll give this a try
Unfortunately unless I'm doing something wrong, that did not fix the issue.
So with everything disconnected and the gantry completely free the wheels are even until I tighten the bolts at the top. Once I do that everything goes uneven.
