#Filament Stuck in extruder

It sounds like you may be experiencing a filament jam in your extruder. Here are some steps you can try to help resolve the issue:
-
Heat the extruder: Start by heating up the extruder to the recommended temperature for the filament you are using. This helps soften the material and makes it easier to remove.
-
Manually push the filament: Once the extruder is heated, try manually pushing the filament through the extruder by gently applying pressure. This can help dislodge any clogs or obstructions.
-
Check for blockages: If manually pushing the filament doesn't work, you may need to check for any blockages in the extruder. Take a close look at the nozzle and the filament path to ensure there are no obstructions. Use a small tool like a needle or unclogging tool to clear any blockage if necessary.
-
Clean the gears: If the gears are rotating but not feeding the filament, there might be debris or dirt stuck in them. You can use a small brush or toothbrush to clean the gears and...
If its still in the gears try heating up and retracting. If not, you've got some disassembly to do.
What printer and Extruder?
I have a FlashForge 5m Pro
I’m not sure what the extruder model is but its stock to the printer
I think the problem is due to the filament, it’s causing the extruder gears to skip
The filament doesn't do that if it's not total crap that's too thin. Did you get it out?
Post a picture so people can see what you are dealing with.
When I try to get it to feed through, the gears click so I assume it’s grinded the filament down
Filament Stuck in extruder
Did you try retracting?
Also you most likely can release the tension on the Extruder wheels to pull the filament out
After heating up of course
I’ve tried heating it up and manually pulling it out, there’s no hope there, but I haven’t figured out how to retract it
I glossed over the manual and that machine doesn't seem to offer retracting the filament via screen...interesting design choice. Also no way of adjusting Extruder tension...aldi interesting design choice. Then the other way....it has the quick-replace nozzles, try removing the nozzle and pull the filament out with it.
I’ll give it ago, thank you for the help so far
Right that hasn’t worked, I might need to disassemble it
Good luck 🤞
Good news, I’ve managed to get it out 😂 with abit of force
It’s definitely the filament
Might need to trash it now
What filament is it?
Huh should be alright. Or you got a bad spool, always a possibility.
maybe, i'll give it another go thanks for the help tho, its much appreciated 🙏
Pleasure 😁
