Wanted to know the best way to design a cantilever joint that sweeps around the edge as I can't seem to get it to work. I tried converting it to solid but the sweep doesn't seem to like the edge path, I essentially just want the edging extended to have a joint and then cut that out of the other wooly part with tolerance so the face can snap on and off
#How to add joints to edge of this face plate?

To design a cantilever joint that sweeps around the edge, you can try using different modeling techniques. Here's a step-by-step approach you can follow:
-
Start by creating the profile of the joint that you want to sweep along the edge. Make sure the joint profile is a closed shape.
-
Create a path along the edge where you want the joint to be placed. Make sure the path is also a closed shape.
-
Use the "Sweep" or "Sweep2" command in your 3D modeling software to sweep the joint profile along the edge path. Make sure the sweep settings are adjusted to achieve the desired shape and size of the joint.
-
Once you have the swept joint shape, you can then extend the edging to form a complete joint by adding any necessary additional features or geometry.
-
To create the snapping feature, you will need to design a corresponding feature on the other part that will provide the necessary tolerance for the joint to snap on and off. Ensure that the tolerance is sufficient to allow for...
