I have recently finished a print and noticed it was unfinished, after thorough inspection I found out the filament decided to break halway through the print from the extruder. Is there a solution to prevent it from happening? Physical or Hardware solutions would be helpful. I think theres are a few Cura setting I could do to solve it, but unsure which settings those are.

I have a Creality Ender 3v2 with metal extruder upgrades.

Print is PLA, on usual default settings

There are several steps you can take to prevent filament breaks during 3D printing:

  1. Filament Quality: Ensure that you are using high-quality filament that is free from defects or moisture. Filament with cracks, knots, or uneven thickness is more prone to breaking. Store your filament in a dry place to avoid moisture absorption.

  2. Proper Filament Path: Check that the filament path is free from obstructions and properly aligned from the spool to the extruder. Make sure the filament feeds smoothly and doesn't encounter any friction points.

  3. Tension and Pressure: Adjust the extruder tension to provide just enough pressure to grip the filament without deforming or crushing it. A properly tensioned extruder can prevent filament slips and breaks. You can adjust filament tension using the screw on your metal extruder.

  4. Print Speed and Temperature: Ensure that you are printing at appropriate speeds and temperatures for your filament type. Filaments have specific recommended range...

only reason it could be wet is from humidity, is there any easy solution for that.

Or at least to keep the filament under controlled conditions

Direct drive or Bowden?
I had the problem once while not using a filament guide tube that the movement of the axis ripped the filament from my direct drive extruder. The unconstrained path of the filament between spool , runout sensor and extruder was getting so short while printing on the left side of the bed, that the rapid travel move of the printhead along the x axis created enough friction that the filament was pulled straight out.

Tldr: Use a filament guide tube.

Mine is the basic setup with the extruder connected to a Teflon tube that feeds into the nozzle. Not sure if Direct Drive or Bowden
