I love 3D printing but haven’t been enjoying my hobby in months because of this problem. When the print gets to a certain height it stops printing properly. Sometimes it can continue and correct itself. People have been telling me heat creep but I don’t think that’s it. I’ve watched the z axis move up and down and it doesn’t stick or seem to have problems traveling when using the sonic pad to move up and down. Should I take apart both rods and super clean them? I’ve oiled and wiped them as much as I could already same problem.

It's great to hear that you love 3D printing! I understand the frustration you're facing with your prints. There could be a few potential causes for the issue you describe.

While heat creep is a common issue, it seems like you've ruled that out. Inconsistent or failed prints at a certain height could also be caused by issues such as improper slicing settings, filament quality, or even a loose or misaligned extruder assembly.

Before taking apart the rods, I recommend checking a few other things first.

  1. Make sure that your slicing settings are optimized for your printer and filament. Check parameters such as layer height, printing speed, and temperature to ensure they are appropriate for your setup.

  2. Check the tension on your filament feed. If it's too tight or too loose, it can cause inconsistent extrusion. Adjust the tension according to your printer's specifications.

  3. Inspect the extruder assembly for any signs of wear, misalignment, or clogs. Clean your nozzle and chec...

It’s a brand new extruder as I bought a new one thinking it was the problem

Heat creep won't cause problems with movement. It's parts of the hotend getting hot when they shouldn't.

My suggestion is to print a temperature tower and print at the lowest temperature that looks acceptable and see if that affects the problem.
