#ender 5 plus x axis is trying to go further back than its capable of doing

There could be a few reasons why the Ender 5 Plus might disregard the X-axis stop switch and continue pushing beyond it. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
-
Check the physical position and alignment of the X-axis stop switch. Make sure it is properly connected and securely in place.
-
Verify if the endstop is triggering correctly. You can manually trigger the X-axis endstop and see if it recognizes the switch being activated in the printer's software.
-
Ensure that the connector and wiring between the X-axis endstop and the printer controller board are intact and properly connected.
-
Check the firmware settings of your printer. Make sure the X-axis endstop is correctly defined and configured in the firmware.
-
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there might be a problem with the endstop switch itself. You may need to replace it with a new one.
Remember to take proper precautions and consult the manufacturer's documentation befo...
Any chance you moved it by hand at some point?
More than likely the switch is not triggering properly.
Is the X axis making contact with the switch?
Is the switch secured to the frame?
Are all the wire connections secured, no broken wires?
Yea it’s contacting securely
It doesn’t shift when I tried to move the switch by hand
And as far as I can see yes all the wires are connected as they should be and none are broken
And it’ll auto home just fine it’s when I told it to start printing something that it freaked out and did it
Just to clarify, it's trying to go too far towards 0, right? Not too far towards the other end of the axis, opposite of the switch?
Yeah it’s trying to push past the switch but it only did it when I tried to print auto home and everything else worked fine
Is this a new printer you just got or is it something you've been using for awhile?
Just got
So I figured out what the issue was it’s the black plastic “case” for the wires and filament tube I just don’t know how to hold it up without restricting the movement for the print head
it is falling in between the print head arm and switch
@analog igloo there's probably a file on thingiverse to correct that issue
Yeah I wasn’t sure what it was called or how to look up if there was a file or not so I made one and I’m gunna print it on my ender 3 then attach it and see if it fixes it
Good idea. Just a post to ziptie a section of the cable at the back will probably suffice
