The printer is brand new. Seems fine, set it up, followed the instructions and such; any print it does now, it prefaces like this:
Home movement axis stuff, make noise with the Z axis (skipping?), reach temp, begin print and drive the nozzle directly into the bed, drag it around. Dented pretty well- I have checked my z-offset three times. I have stopped it at that point, and tried it with different print files now. It seems to repeat it easily enough. Have reached out to sovol, but while I wait for an official response, I was wanting to know if anyone else had run into this issue/corrected it.
I removed/moved my post from the quick channel... this is not a quick answer anymore I think. Video example here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFP8iqQhi7s

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your new printer. Based on the video you provided, it appears that there may be an issue with the Z-axis calibration or the leveling of the printer bed. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Double-check your Z-offset calibration: Make sure that the distance between the nozzle and the print bed is properly calibrated. You mentioned that you have checked it three times, but it's worth rechecking to ensure accuracy.

  2. Level the bed: Ensure that the bed is evenly leveled. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to level the bed properly. This is crucial for proper adhesion and preventing the nozzle from crashing into the bed.

  3. Check the Z-axis movement: Make sure that the Z-axis is moving smoothly and not skipping steps. Check for any obstructions or loose components that may cause the nozzle to crash into the bed.

  4. Software/firmware update: Check if there are any available firmware or software ...

Correction- the Z axis moves down with the noise.

getting some Blair Witch Project vibe with the video. You did check everything for rigidity and loose screws I presume?

Yes, quite sure of that... I'll fess up though. I checked my slicer, just in case, and well... case solved. My velocity for my Z axis was cranked to about 30. I cut that to 15 and it... works.

I'm selectively blind and deaf... did tighten one screw on the Z axis coupling though, thanks for reminding me.
