#Ender 2 Pro Not Clicking Z Axis Before Printing

Whether I do an Auto Home, or if it's auto homing automatically before a print, it won't go all the way down on the z axis (up and down axis) sometimes. It'll get really close and push the metal clicker down a bit, but it'll stop before it clicks. This results in a different Z level every time.

If it's leveled to the point where it clicks, it'll look like the bed is too far away from the nozzle when it prints without clicking. Just like you leveled the bed wrong. It homes correctly about 1/7 times.

Is this a firmware update thing? Do I need to get a new clicker sensor, whatever they're called?

Thank you

It sounds like you may be experiencing issues with your Z-axis homing or leveling. A few possible causes could be:

  1. Z-axis limit switch or sensor: The clicker you are referring to is likely the limit switch or endstop that signals the printer when to stop on the Z-axis. It's possible that this switch is not functioning properly or is misaligned. Try checking the wiring and connections to ensure they are secure. If necessary, you may need to replace the switch.
  2. Z-axis binding: Check if there is any resistance or binding in the movement of the Z-axis. This could prevent the nozzle from reaching the correct Z-level during homing. Lubrication or realigning the Z-axis may be necessary.
  3. Software or firmware issue: Updating the firmware on your printer can sometimes help resolve homing and leveling issues. Check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates and follow their instructions for updating.

If the problem persists after checking these possible causes, it ...

Could I get confirmation on one of these from someone who isn't a bot?

is there something hitting the sensor while homing like some filament?
