I bought an SV06, my first printer, and I am setting up everything in PrusaSlicer. I have very minimal understanding of G-CODE.

I was debating between using the preset for the SV06 that is in beta and comes with PrusaSclicer, or one that was provided by a user on reddit. The main difference is the attached G-CODE, but I don't really understand them.

Could you advise me on what would be best to use? And why?

P.S.: In the machine limits should I apply them with "Use for time estimate" or "Emit to G-Code"?

When it comes to selecting the best G-CODE presets for your SV06 printer in PrusaSlicer, there are a few factors to consider. First, it's important to note that beta presets may still be under development and could contain bugs or issues. Presets shared by experienced users on forums or Reddit can be valuable as they often have been refined and tested by the community.

To decide which preset to use, you can look at the specific changes made in the G-CODE settings. If the user-provided G-CODE has modifications that address specific issues or improvements relevant to the SV06, those modifications may be worth considering. Additionally, user presets may be designed to suit particular filament brands or materials, which can also be a factor to consider if it aligns with your printing goals.

Regarding the machine limits, it is generally recommended to have them set correctly within PrusaSlicer. These limits are important for accurate time estimates and preventing the printer from attem...

i like use for time estimate so the printer controls the speed, not the slicer

Just "G29;"? What does it do?

Also could you explain why 1 is better than 2? If it isn't too much work

G29 is the make new bed mesh command, if you dont want to probe the bed each time M420 S1 is fine but every now and then you gotta start a mesh make command manually

its possible 2 would work, but depends on where the stock firmware decides y=0 is, 2 will try to go into negative y to extrude off the side of the bed wich i thin prusas can do, but my plus cant, it also tries to use G80, another prusa command

Sorry... I don't understand

You can't make one line simply a comment, is what you're saying?
I couldn't do something like
"
G28 ;
;G29 ;
M420 S1;

"
So that it "ignores" the G29 command
And occasionally take the ";" before G29 to create a new mesh

#

If I wanted to do something like that it would be along the lines of

"

G28
M420 S1; G29

"

And occasionally swap M420 S1 and G29. Would this work?

on the first part that works, the second one is the exact same since the semicolon is before the G29 on the line

#

you would want

G28
G29

and the M420 wouldnt matter since he g29 would load it the same

#

you can also not use the G29 at all and use the printer knob to make the mesh when you want
