You got some weird friends
Why bother commenting this at all, do not forget "be excellent to each other"
Nice paint job zen
Resin? Fdm?
@rain warren nice painting man, it looks dope
can i ask how did you print the hair? it doesnt seem possible with certain machines
I believe it’s been resin printed
It's Resin
I guess it's possible to print on FDM in this size as well, but lots of sanding would probably be needed to fix z seem and such
You could also use model putty to fill it or bondo if you wish to got that route
there's a line at the skirt that could make it look like it's FDM printed, but it's just me being bad at resin supports
No one’s perfect
sure, but you'll still have to fiddle with layer lines. Here it took less than 10 hours to print 0.02mm layer height and it's like 16 cm tall
Nice, that’s true about layer liners(still haven’t figured out what I’m doing with my sword)
I do not deny that lol. Of all the things she could want me to print and paint from myminifactory.com and she chose this
It's an honor when the words come from a paint maniac. thanks
I still wish I did better on my mustang commission for the paint work
I have a Voron 2.4 and I first started out with trying to print minis with it, after starting DND. It took around 4 hours to print 1 mini with lots of strings at that tiny layer height.
then I said screw it and got a resin printer
I want one but I’m not building a shed with a heater(my dads words after he heard it was stinky) to do it
it's much more fun to paint when the detail is there. it's totally worth it
the printers compliment each other
Dad said I’d have to build a shed for resin printing
making big tintin rockets with the big printer and tintin figures with the little printer
I made a low poly fox piggy bank that I literally have to break if I want to get into it it
I am a horrible impulsive buyer
my resin printer is in the "hooby room" and I just open the window and close the door to the room when done working with it
I have my own room and “my” basement but I’m not allowed to buy a resin setup and put it in the basement
it's good to be cautious about the health safety, but it's not the end of the world if you don't have a dedicated room for it
it would be cheaper to buy a grow tent and put a vent to the window instead of building a shed
example pic:
It would but I live in the great northern frozen wasteland that is Canada and we already have to deal with the smell of my brothers work clothes when he comes home from the Rigs
I also don’t have anywhere to put it anyways
that's what @worn quail 's excuse is too.
maybe there's a black friday deal soon that will make you re-consider your options

With the literal $60 dollars in my bank account?
it was printed whole on resin as Iron said. Only thing I've attached to it is the base.
i see, thank you! i didnt know there was types of 3d printers
am new to the whole thing
if you love figurines, small decorations and curious to paint, then Resin printers is the go-to
Here's a few other prints I've painted
theres a machine on my college, we can use for like 3.200 idr each grams
ill have to ask next time what type it is
how long does it take to make the pikachu one? excluding painting
Resin printers have liquid resin. so if you see liquid that stinks at that printer, it's resin
That’s an FDM
ehh maybe 4-5 hours I think. IT's the height of the model that defines how long it takes. So you can print a whole build plate full of minis and it takes the same time if they are same height
it prints 1 whole layer at the same time for like 2-3 seconds
times 3000 layers
what app do you use to make the model? or do you just find one online?
oh I just find them online
i see
