Lads, can i get a little assistance with PS? I'm just starting to use PS after using Cura for almost a year and although i've copied the start gcode and end gcode directly from Cura to my Printer Settings tab in PS, it hasn't been behaving the same as cura.

My start gcode is as follows:

; Ender 3 S1 Pro Start G-code NO MESH

G28 ;Home

G92 E0 ;Reset Extruder

bed_hot

G1 Z2.0 F3000 ;Move Z Axis up

G1 X2.1 Y20 Z0.28 F5000.0 ;Move to start position

G1 X2.1 Y200.0 Z0.28 F1500.0 E15 ;Draw the first line

G1 X2.4 Y200.0 Z0.28 F5000.0 ;Move to side a little

G1 X2.4 Y20 Z0.28 F1500.0 E30 ;Draw the second line

G92 E0 ;Reset Extruder

G1 Z2.0 F3000 ;Move Z Axis up

fire

G4 P50

cooler

Ignore the random commands. They are for my Neopixels.

In Cura, i'd send a print to the printer and once the print temps are good, it prints a prime line, then starts printing the print. In PS however, it prints the prime line, then pauses after it lifts from the bed after the prime line for at least 5 seconds, then goes on to print.

What is causing this strange issue? I've never seen it from Cura and I've never had it happen in Orca slicer.

AI Help

The issue you are experiencing with PrusaSlicer (PS) pausing after priming could be related to the G-code commands you have in your start script. It seems that the fire, G4 P50, and cooler commands are causing the pause. Please note that PrusaSlicer may interpret certain commands differently than Cura or Orca slicer.

To troubleshoot, you can try removing these commands from your start G-code script and see if the pause issue persists. If removing these commands resolves the issue, you may need to find alternative ways to accomplish their intended effects in PrusaSlicer.

If the problem persists even after removing those commands, it could be worth checking your printer's firmware and configuration. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed and that your printer settings in PrusaSlicer are properly aligned with your printer's specifications.

Remember to always test your changes with caution and be mindful of safety precautions.

remove that line if you don't want it to stop for a few seconds
