I know for a fact it's the material, because I can load in a different PLA and get a nearly perfect first layer. JAYO, however, is refusing to stick at all.

I've cranked the temp up to 220, which has helped notably, but it still sucks, even after cranking bed temp to 70.
The level is perfect (along with z offset etc, as other PLAs work fine)

(glass) Bed is freshly cleaned with IPA, zero grease or anything on it

new nozzle (which hasn't helped it not stick to the nozzle, at least I tried. Wiping it off for every attempt doesn't really help)

I did manage to get one print off with a really shoddy first layer, but would like to know how to make it more consistently good. I'm not going to resort to adhesives because that's basically giving up.

It seems like you're experiencing difficulties with getting your JAYO filament to adhere properly to the bed. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Adjust the bed leveling: Even though you mentioned that the level is perfect, it's worth double-checking. Ensure that the nozzle height is just right, allowing the proper amount of squish into the bed.

  2. Clean the bed thoroughly: While you mentioned using IPA (isopropyl alcohol) to clean the bed, sometimes even small amounts of residue can affect adhesion. Consider using a different cleaning agent such as acetone or glass cleaner to thoroughly clean the glass bed.

  3. Increase bed temperature: Since you've already tried raising the bed temperature to 70°C, you could experiment with increasing it further (e.g., 80-85°C). This elevated temperature can aid in better adhesion.

  4. Fine-tune nozzle temperature: While you mentioned increasing the nozzle temperature to 220°C, it might be worth exploring other temperature setti...

I tried printing with a lower bed temp, and it doesn't adhere at all, just slips off

I unno if I'm printing solid lube here or what but it's giving me a hell of a time
