Hi all I have an ender 3 s1 pro with a sonic pad that is fairly new. and calibrated. Every print seems to have something wrong. Most recently It just stops extruding and on one side of the bed for larger prints at the early layers it makes a skipping sound and the layers are missing/ uneven on the right hand side.

I am also getting the same issue with the extruder not working for smaller prints in the middle. The only difference is when it stops in the middle I do not notice the skipping sound.

Here are some of the things I have done, checked the cable connections, checked the PTFE tube in the direct drive path and made sure there was no clogs or blockages. I have also adjusted the tension. I have manually leveled the bed multiple times using paper.

I use cura and the custom profiles provided by creality for the sonic pad.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to nail down a solution or root cause of the issue. I suspect it may be a bad cable, bad gears or motor. I am not new to printing but far from an expert on repairs or this level of troubleshooting. thanks for reading my wall of text.

Based on the information you've provided, it sounds like you've already done a good job troubleshooting some common issues. Here are a few additional steps you can take to further isolate and potentially resolve the problem:

  1. Check your filament: Make sure the filament is not tangled or causing any resistance when feeding into the extruder. Also, try using a different spool of filament to see if the issue persists.

  2. Adjust the flow rate: It's possible that the extrusion is too high or too low, causing the skipping sound and uneven layers. Try adjusting the flow rate in your slicer settings and see if it improves the printing quality.

  3. Inspect the extruder gear: Remove the filament and visually inspect the teeth of the extruder gear. If they appear worn or damaged, it could affect the grip on the filament. Consider replacing the gear if necessary.

  4. Check the stepper motor: Verify if the stepper motor is running smoothly without any unusual noises or excessive heat. If the...
