Yes, it is possible to replace the hotend on your printer with an x2 all metal hotend and upgrade to a BLTouch. However, you would need to modify the firmware to support these new components. As for the wiring, it depends on the compatibility of the connectors and cables between your current hotend and the new components. You may need to make some adjustments or extensions to ensure proper connectivity. It's always a good idea to consult the documentation or reach out to the manufacturer for specific instructions on this upgrade.
The x2 uses the ribbon cable instead of the stuff on the x1 right?
Unless you could swap the hotend boards out then I’m not sure
Any chance I could see the board on your hotend assembly?
For context I have an x2 that I slapped a BLtouch on
They both use ribbon
The four fork prongs is where I currently have the bl touch linked
I would be planning on switching their touch with the bl
And the the main boards are different for them the x1 has an 8 bit board x2 has 32 bit
Iirc the pins for the bltouch need to have a specific wire that you make bc the pins on the bl are different than the ones on the board, but I did it so it should be possible
OK so should work I think because I'm already hooked for bl touch on main board
Thanks @primal star
I’d make sure and check pins so you don’t fry anything
Yep that's the plan, the x1 doesn't have any abl system
