hey there, I am looking for a super fast mini printer (also if there is a resin printer thats the same speed, it would be nice to point it out), and so I wondered how much would a voron 0 cost if I went with the "fastest (but that are still reasonable) parts" how much would it cost me ? and what is the level of difficulty to build one ? thanks

Hello! The cost of building a Voron 0 3D printer with faster but reasonably priced parts can vary depending on your location and specific components chosen. On average, the build cost for a Voron 0 ranges between $400 to $800. However, it's essential to consider additional expenses like filament, tools, and any upgrades you may want to make.
In terms of difficulty, building a Voron 0 is considered to be of intermediate to advanced level. It requires a good understanding of 3D printers, electronics, and some soldering. There are detailed assembly instructions and a supportive community to help you through the process. As long as you take your time, follow the instructions carefully, and seek assistance when needed, you should be able to tackle the build successfully.
If you have any specific questions or need further assistance building your Voron 0, feel free to ask!

if this is your first printer then dont get a voron
if this is your 2nd or 3rd then a formbot kit goes for about 300 usd
I have a p1p
so its a first printer
I'd personally avoid going with a v0 cause the p1p has no diy skill involved
its quite a hard build since everything is so compact
yeah, but I already did some diy project with electronics
The bot is correct in that it will cost about $600 for a basic v0 (im basing that on a siboor/formbot kit + pif parts)
How much more expensive it will get depends entirely on what sort of mods you do (the base vo is still very fast)
In terms of difficulty it depends how you build
if you get a kit then not too hard, all the wiring will be predone and the documantation is great but if you self source it will be alot harder
and then if you are modding it for speed then all of those mods will likely be even harder again as there will be very little documantation for anything and you will be doing literally everything from scratch
if you can follow a manual it shouldn't be tooooo hard, although it does assume you have some pre existing knowledge
ok, how much faster is the base voron 0 compared to the p1p ?
but tbh there isnt much point going faster than a stock v0 unless you are going fast for the sake of going fast (as in trying to do speed benchys) as you will have much worse print quality and part strength
then it should be fine, especially if the wiring is pre done
my voron trident hits 45k accel with 350mm/s. v0.2 should hit about 60k at 450+ mm/s
I have no idea what that means
ok
bambu typically does about 200mm/s for actually printing (idk the accell) with travels up to like 500mm/s
also your p1p is a pla machine, a v0.2 wont make your parts all that much faster
20000mm/s I think
we shorten that to 20k accel
ye that sounds reasonable (assuming you mean 20k mm/s^2 for accel not 20k mm/s lol)
I think
if speed is all you want (unless you are doing speed benchies) then a v0 wont be much of an upgrade without some very serious mods
still a fun build though
no
your bambu can do PLA/PETG very well
no, my v0 cant print pla
the enclosure makes it impossible lol (yes ik techncally you can remove it)
might be fun, but if it is just for it to finish has a statue in a corner I don't see the point
v0 is intended for stuff like abs (which your p1p wont do very well)
then if I use ABS, how fast would it be compared to bambu with pla ?
its not a question of speed its quality
the p1p isnt enclosed so you will get tonnes of warping
enclosed = good for abs, bad for pla
speed is a fad above 250mm/s and 20k accel
wont gain much and quality reduction for those extra mins off of a multi hour print is tiny
your bambu will do fine at or below those speeds
I don't want to do abs on my p1p, it's just that if I did the same model on both, in pla with my p1p, and in abs with the voron, how much faster the voron would be ?
a v0.2 will go well above and maintian quality, but your gain is quite low for the time+money
hard to say, each voron is different
also material doesnt mattert all that much
PLA vs ABS, doesn't do that much
depends what exactly your voron ends up being
there is no one voron, the point of them is they are all different
yours could end up twice as slow or twice as fast as the p1p depending on how you build it
people do speed benchies with ABS cause it melts easier, thus allowing higher flows. you wont reach the flows required to require ABS over PLA any time soon
i think they just mean they dont care about the material so they are just going with the ideal material on each printer (pls corect me if im wrong though)
indeed, I don't give a crap about what my prints are made of
what sort of stuff are you printing?
a bit of everything, I wanted a voron 0 for fast prototyping, for just general functionnal things
in that case you dont want to be printing at much faster than the p1p already is
you will sacrifice part strength which obviously isnt ideal for functional parts
it's fine, I just want a voron to prototype and see if it's right, not for the final print
v0 is an amazing printer and its really fun to build
i just dont think for your use case you will be happy with the results
if you just want a 2nd printer so you can run them both in parallel then its a great choice though
ok
then if voron 0 isn't right for fast prototyping, what should it be for ?
its good for rapid prototyping, just not needed if you have a fast printer already
it is right for fast prototyping, it just wont be significantly faster than your p1p
no way
?
its like we're interconnected
ye lol
ok, so is there anything that could go faster than bambulab and keep the quality without going into industrial printers
yes, v0.2, trident, 2,4 annex, loads of printers really
not really, with current firmware and stuff bambu/prusa/qidi/voron are all at the limit of how fast you should print
apart from heavily modded diy ones like yorak mentioned
just you got a bambu, no need for slightly faster when what u got prints fine
(for now)
read my name aloud
ok, is there any known incoming printers that could be significantly faster than bambulab while keeping the quality ?
not that we know of rn
we need new tech (probably firmware stuff) to maintain the quality
also, since you name tag says p1s. i'm going to assume it's bambulab p1s, is there any difference between the p1p and p1s, just to know if the upgrade kit is in any kind usefull for pla
if i had to guess i would say prusa might be the ones to push it further, the load cell sensor on their nextruder has alot of potential for new stuff
no off the shelf printers
DIY yes, loads.
but nothing from the likes of prusa, creality, bambu, qidi and others
isn't the mk4 slower than bambulabs ?
yes
no, if you want to print pla (or dont care about material) then the p1s is useless for you
the upgrade just adds an enclosure (and fans to help) which will actually be worse for pla
but it has a proper support system and actually has qc
no
if it's fully diy without any instructions or company backing it like voron, I probably won't
from my testing they both finish prints within 1 min of each other ootb
voron aint a company
its just a group of nerds
which is why they are so good, no financial incentive to ruin things
they just release a BOM and manual. no support, no offical shit
it's close enought for me
couple dudes on discord = company
yes
but you have schematics to create your printer
i know
you got a CAD file and a manual
so shematic
grammer moment
sure, they sell nothing though
they have 1 link on their entire website for donations
and the BOM list only shows what you need with links that are either aff or non aff
sure, but they have the rest
The rest of what?
shematics
How so
They release the full CAD file
So anyone can see every nut and every bolt
Every bearing
yeah
