So im having some trouble with my Ender 3. For some reason the prints are turning out basically squished. Not the proper height they should be. Any ideas?
I checked the size of my print. The stl shows the wall being 2.86mm thick. While the printed part is showing as 1.8mm thick. So what is casuing it to be so much thinner? It defo explains some of the defects im having and ticking sounds. The rod is lubed.
This end bit should be a perfect cylinder but alas is not

It sounds like you may be experiencing issues with your printer's z-axis calibration. Here are a few suggestions to help troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Check your z-axis steps per millimeter (sometimes referred to as Z-steps) in your printer's firmware. If it's incorrect, it can cause the z-axis to move too much or too little per command. You can adjust this value in your printer settings or directly in your firmware if you're comfortable doing so.

  2. Verify that your z-axis lead screw is not bent or damaged. If it is, it can cause irregular movement and affect the overall height of your prints. Consider replacing the lead screw if necessary.

  3. Ensure that the z-axis is running smoothly and not binding. Lubricate the z-axis rod with a PTFE-based or silicone lubricant if needed.

  4. Check the tension of the z-axis stepper motor belt. If it's too loose, it can cause missed steps and affect the overall height accuracy of your prints. Tighten the belt if necessary.
