I am using the SKR Mini e3 v3 and I have tried on 2 different motherboards now (both skr mini e3) however I am getting no voltage on the hotend fan when it's supposed to boot up, was working perfectly fine but then I installed noctua fan (with buck converter) and I'm getting no voltage? This has nothing to do with the noctua fans and buck converter I think because there still isn't any power even going to the buck converter and when measuring voltage straight out of the jst socket on the mb I'm still getting no readings yet the Led still turns on indicating that the fan should be powered.

It seems like you are experiencing a problem with the SKR Mini E3 v3 and the hotend fan not receiving power. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Double-check the connections: Make sure that all connections related to the hotend fan are properly seated, including the fan cable and the JST socket on the motherboard. Ensure that the fan cable is securely plugged in and that there are no loose connections.

  2. Test the fan separately: If possible, try connecting the hotend fan directly to a separate power source (such as a 12V power supply) to verify if it receives power. This will help determine if the fan or the motherboard is causing the issue.

  3. Check the firmware settings: If everything seems to be connected correctly, check your firmware settings to ensure that the fan control is enabled and set correctly. Some firmware allows you to configure the fan speed and temperature thresholds, so reviewing these settings might be beneficial.

  4. Contact support: If the ...

# hollow delta Could be a board issue

I've tried on 2 of the same boards, was running perfectly fine on my last btt board and then stopped working after installing the noctuas, I replaced the board for another reason and still getting the same issue on a new board

Are you pulling too much current or something

#

Maybe you wired it wrong and cooked the mosfet

I doubt it?

Does your old fan spin up

#

If you connect it

#

I could try hook it up but would be a massive pain

hollow delta
#

I would try it

#

Don't have to install it

#

Just pull the jst and plug the old one in

scenic citrus
#

Yeah will test

If that doesn't work I would guess it's a board problem unless you've modified the config

scenic citrus
#

Yeah it's a board problem, I have no clue why though

#

I haven't had any issues in the past and this board litterally arrived this morning

#

I bought this replacement partially hoping it would solve the last boards issue

#

I don't think it can be a firmware thing either as I'm using the same firmware I used when it worked.

After trying again, I think this is an issue with the buck converter, turns out it only turns once the temp has reached 50°+, i tried with he stock fan and it actually fired up meaning it's something with the noctua or buck converter
