AI Help

It's great that you've done some troubleshooting already. Deep lines in your prints can indicate issues with under-extrusion or inconsistent filament flow. Since you mentioned that the old filament works well at a lower temperature, it's possible that the new filament you're using requires a different temperature profile.

Here are a few suggestions to address the issue:

  1. Check the recommended temperature range of the new filament: Different PLA filaments may have slightly different optimal printing temperatures. The recommended temperature range is usually mentioned on the filament packaging or the manufacturer's website. Make sure you're within the specified temperature range for the filament you're currently using.

  2. Calibrate your extruder: Ensure that your extruder is properly calibrated to ensure accurate filament flow. This involves measuring the amount of filament that is extruded when commanded to extrude a specific length. There are numerous guides and tutorials avail...

Well temp range of my elegoo is 205-220. Did a temp tower and that range is terrible. The quality improves way below at 185c

Also make sure your z-axis runs smoothly... if it binds slightly and then suddenly "jumps" up, you get one higher, but too narrow layer

and since it hit all your test cubes at the same heights (I can't really make out anything from the second photo though), it has to be something related to the Z-axis, or maybe semi-related to the model in a way (like the slicer producing something the printer can't handle well)
