#How should I maintain my 3D resin printer?

Each time I print with my resin printer I take off the build platform, scrape the model away and then put the platform itself into an IPA solution and wash it to rid of any excess liquid resin, should I be doing this?

Should I instead just scrape the model away and reinstall the build platform back?

In the case that I wash my build platform in IPA to clean it off any liquid resin, should I then wash it in water as well or just wipe it with some paper towels and install it back on?

I'm new to all of this 3d resin printing and I'm not too sure about how to maintain a clean environment so I would appreciate any additional tips / help as well, thanks!

When using a resin printer, it is important to clean the build platform and remove excess resin after each print. Here's a recommended cleaning process:

  1. After scraping off the model, you can use a paper towel or lint-free cloth to wipe off any excess resin from the build platform. Make sure to wear gloves when handling resin.

  2. Next, place the build platform into an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution. The IPA should have a concentration of 90% or higher. Leave the platform submerged for a few minutes to help dissolve and clean away any remaining resin.

  3. After removing the build platform from the IPA bath, you can wipe it dry using a paper towel or a lint-free cloth. Avoid using tissues or fabrics that may leave residues.

You generally don't need to wash the build platform in water after cleaning it with IPA. The purpose of IPA is to dissolve the resin, and it evaporates quickly without leaving residues. Washing with water may introduce contaminants or prolong drying time.
