Happy to oblige. Monster can for scale
Looks great. I can barely see the layer lines
You always can see the layer lines.. but yea not bad for FDM
How long did it take and how much filament?
About 9.5 hours and around 80-100grms? I don't really look at how much filaments used as I look at how much I have left, and only when I notice the reel is low.
Wow, biggest ive ever ran was 222 grams at 14 hours
I've done shelf brackets, shelves, and small planters that have taken a while to print due to the settings I had them on, but I'm mildly agoraphobic and only really leave my home to walk my dog around the block slowly, so I can keep an eye on them. That said, I've yet to have the machine printing for longer than 12-14 hours at a time, although I'm at a point I feel I could do a day or so print if I had the paitence.
I need a second machine really before I can do that without feeling like I'm wasting time I could be making other things waiting for that one large piece to print.
A second machine is definitely worth it
Cause you can print parts still if one is broken
And you can print stuff for the other machine
(v2.4 btw)
No idea. I'm undecided as to weather to go for a multi-colour high end FDM, or split and get another Ender or a Neptune/Solvol, and get a resin at the same time
I've been watching the new X1c videos, but I feel a bit iffy about being locked into a brand
id recommend if you know ur way around 3d printers, id try getting a uh voron
I'm still very new, I only have an Ender V2 at the moment, I've added silicone springs, dual z drive, I have capricorn tubing for it, and I think I'm happy with it as a PLA machine, with the 4.2.2 board and MrIsoc firmware, but I'd like one with an enclosure and multi-colour capabilities so I can print better parts from higher rated materials.
So, no, not really, but I'm pretty good with learning new technology and the mechanichal and engineering side of things. It's the coding and electrical sides that I struggle with. But I'll get there. I will definately look into one. Any particular model?
If you want something small and fast, V0.2 is a great choice
Trident/V2.4 is good for medium/large scale while still having speed
