My printer extruded curly line of filament it’s probably a partial blockage but I did a cold pull twice and there’s no difference

AI Help

If you've noticed a curly line of filament during extrusion, it could indeed indicate a partial blockage. While a cold pull (also known as "atomic pull") can help resolve such issues, it may not always be effective. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Increase the nozzle temperature slightly above the filament's recommended temperature and attempt another cold pull.
  2. Inspect the nozzle for any visible clogs or debris. You can use a nozzle cleaning needle or a small wire to gently dislodge any obstructions.
  3. Check that the filament path is clear and free from any tangles or knots that may affect smooth extrusion.
  4. Ensure that the filament is loaded correctly and that there are no issues with the extruder gears or tension.
  5. If none of the above steps work, you might consider performing a more thorough cleaning of the extruder assembly.

Remember to follow the manufacturer's guidelines and take appropriate safety precautions while troubleshooting or cleaning y...

Sometimes

scarlet basalt
west creek
#

What does that mean

scarlet basalt
#

wich filament brand do you have?

west creek
#

Esun

#

Pla+

scarlet basalt
#

does it have a brass or steel nozzle?

west creek
#

Brass

scarlet basalt
#

does it curl on the bed when printing or when it comes out of the nozzle?

west creek
#

When it comes out

#

When it’s on the bed it’s fine

#

I mean like

#

When manually

#

It’s curls

#

Mid print it’s fine

scarlet basalt
#

well, if it prints fine just leave it.

west creek
#

Imma print something real quick and see it it happens again

scarlet basalt
#

aight

west creek
#

Ok so the print was extruding

#

But I stopped it to switch out the nozzle

#

And the threads of the nozzle are like black

#

Does that mean anything

scarlet basalt
west creek
#

Ok

#

Also when I removed it then was a long piece of filament stuck inside the hotend

#

But it was poking out so I just removed it

scarlet basalt
west creek
#

I did

scarlet basalt
#

the print came out just fine?

west creek
#

I did a cold pull then removed the nozzle

west creek
#

That’s why I was concerned and stopped it

scarlet basalt
#

can you get a video with sound from it?

west creek
#

I already stopped the print

#

But the new nozzle seems to be working fine

scarlet basalt
#

so your only issue is the filament curling when you manually push it trough the extruder by hand?
