This is the start G-Code that comes with the Cura SV06 profile:

M201 X500.00 Y500.00 Z100.00 E5000.00 ;Setup machine max acceleration
M203 X500.00 Y500.00 Z10.00 E50.00 ;Setup machine max feedrate
M204 P500.00 R1000.00 T500.00 ;Setup Print/Retract/Travel acceleration
M205 X8.00 Y8.00 Z0.40 E5.00 ;Setup Jerk
M220 S100 ;Reset Feedrate
M221 S100 ;Reset Flowrate

G28 ;Home
M420 S1 ;use bed mesh, must have used G29 previously

G92 E0 ;Reset Extruder
G1 Z2.0 F3000 ;Move Z Axis up
G1 X10.1 Y20 Z0.28 F5000.0 ;Move to start position
G1 X10.1 Y200.0 Z0.28 F1500.0 E15 ;Draw the first line
G1 X10.4 Y200.0 Z0.28 F5000.0 ;Move to side a little
G1 X10.4 Y20 Z0.28 F1500.0 E30 ;Draw the second line
G92 E0 ;Reset Extruder
G1 Z2.0 F3000 ;Move Z Axis up

I'm using SuperSlicer, and naturally I'm messing with this G-Code a bit.
I'm thinking of removing the lines:
M201: I'm not too sure on this one; SuperSlicer has configured max acceleration in it, so is this line necessary? The values on this line are lower than what I have in SuperSlicer.
M203: Same question as M201.
M204: Same question as M201.
M205: My SuperSlicer settings match these values. Can I remove this line?
M220: If I configure flowrate differently in SuperSlicer, which will take priority? This S100, or my configuration? Either way, shouldn't I remove this line?
M221: Same question as M220.

It's up to you whether you want to remove those lines or not, but here are some things to consider:

  • M201, M203, and M204 configure the max acceleration, max feedrate, and acceleration for printing, retracting, and traveling. These values can be set in SuperSlicer, but if you remove these lines, the printer's default values will be used instead. If you're happy with the values in SuperSlicer, you may not need these lines.
  • M205 sets the jerk values. If your SuperSlicer settings match these values, you can remove this line.
  • M220 sets the flowrate to 100%. If you configure flowrate differently in SuperSlicer, this line will override it. You can remove this line if you're confident that your SuperSlicer configuration is correct.
  • M221 sets the flowrate to 100%. Like M220, this line will override your SuperSlicer configuration. You can remove this line if you're confident that your SuperSlicer configuration is correct.

It's always a good idea to test your G-code changes and make ...

start gcode is ran before the slicer settings setting these, you can remove them all if you set them in slicer settings

Ok, thanks.

I'll probably do that, but I'll wait for someone else to confirm this also just to be sure.

First of all, I want to give a disclaimer before I say anything:
I am not confident that the solutions I give are exactly correct, and just in case, keep the original "Start GCode" saved in another .txt file in case the printer doesn't work after a change.

Also, I do not use superslicer, so I do not know what superslicer does to your settings.

To my knowledge, the first 6 lines of the start Gcode is not necessary if the slicer already sets those settings (this might not happen with SuperSlicer though, i use cura). Also, the M420 S1 line should be removed if there is no probe. If there is a probe I suggest adding the G29 command before M420 S1.

About the M220 and M221 commands, I'm pretty sure the AI is correct. Not totally sure though, but either way I suggest removing them.
