G'day folks, Just setting up the Sovol SV06Plus for the first time, after lubricating all the bearings/rods. Double checking everything is squared (used a speed square and a spirit level).
started the levelling procedures as per the instruction booklet, everything seems to go well until print head starts going into the base (thankfully i removed the sheet. Then you can hear the gears and motors working over time.
I switched the machine off instantly encase damage occurred.
Is this normal behaviour for an SV06Plus? This seems like a manufacturing fault, as the unit has the feature to 'auto align' without manual intervention.

Current firmware/software installed (out of box from Sovol)

  • FW v1.1.4
    -Marlin 2.0.9.2

Can any one help?

Thank you.

It sounds like the auto-leveling feature is not functioning properly. Before attempting to level the bed again, I would recommend checking the following:

  1. Make sure there are no obstructions or debris on the bed or underneath it.
  2. Check that all cables are properly connected and snugly secured.
  3. Check that the Z-axis limit switch is properly adjusted and functioning correctly.
  4. Check that the nozzle height is adjusted correctly.

Also, I would recommend updating the firmware to the latest version in case there are any bug fixes related to the auto-leveling feature. You can find the latest firmware on Sovol's website.

If the issue persists, it may be necessary to contact Sovol's customer support for further assistance.

Good luck!

The channel bot needs tuning, it is closing posts within a very small and unrealistic time frame (1hr). 8-24hrs, lol. Yikes.
