Hi guys,
I recently acquired a CR-10 in less than ideal condition. Previous owner took it to a phone repair place to get a ton of work done to it and they kind of mangled incompatible parts together.

I was hired to repair it but once I gave him a price for parts and labor he opted to just sell me it and get a prusa.

I currently have an ender 3 pro so I have been using spare parts I have to get it working properly however I am stuck on the final piece of the ABL Sensor.

Here are the parts I am using:
Screen: Tft35-e3
Board: skr mini e3 v1.2
(used the firmware from my ender 3 with the parameters changed to match cr-10 specs)
ABL Sensor: bltouch

I have gone through 3 able sensors thinking maybe it is the part but I get the same error with all of them.

I can't even home the printer as it stands now. The probe will move in and out but I keep getting an m999 error when it goes to home the Z using the bltouch.

Here are some pictures, pardon the wire mess as I am still trying to mock it up before I neaten everything up.

Would like to get this running as it would be an awesome upgrade for bigger prints for my truck and bikes

Thanks,
Daunzy

Hi Daunzy,

Based on the pictures you provided and the error you mentioned, it appears that the issue may be with the wiring or configuration of the BLTouch sensor.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Double-check the wiring connections between the BLTouch sensor, the SKR Mini E3 board, and the TFT35-E3 screen. Make sure that all wires are properly seated and that there are no loose or damaged connections.

  2. Check the firmware configuration to ensure that the BLTouch is enabled and configured correctly. You may need to modify the firmware to match the specific wiring and setup of your CR-10.

  3. Try running a self-test of the BLTouch sensor to ensure that it is functioning properly. You can do this by following the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

  4. Make sure that the sensor is properly calibrated and that the probe is properly positioned for accurate bed leveling.

If none of these steps help to resolve the issue, you may need to seek further assis...
