#Mars 2 Pro homing disaster, maybe limit switch failure?

I got a refurbished Mars 2 Pro in March and have been using it on and off for a few months. When I tried to home the bed after a vat cleanout, the build plate didn’t stop and kept grinding into the LCD. The red light Elegoo said comes on when the limit switch is triggered did not and I failed to activate it manually, so I assume this is a problem with it.
This has happened a few times before, but rehoming has always solved the problem. I’ve tried everything I can think of plus the little info I could get from the internet and Elegoo’s support guides. I’ve also contacted them but have yet to get a response.
Is a limit switch failure probably it? I’m on a major time crunch and worried I cannot get a replacement part in time.
TIA

Yes, it is possible that the issue is with the limit switch, as it is responsible for stopping the build plate at the correct location during the homing process. You can try checking the wiring connections to ensure they are secure and not loose, as well as visually inspecting the switch to see if anything looks damaged or out of place.

Unfortunately, if the limit switch is indeed the issue, you may need to replace it. Depending on your location, it may be difficult to get a replacement part in a short amount of time, but you can try contacting Elegoo again to see if they can expedite the process or recommend any alternative solutions.

In the meantime, you can try manually adjusting the build plate to the correct height and running a test print to see if it will work properly. However, please make sure to use caution and not to force the build plate too high or too low, as this can damage the printer.
