#Filament getting chewed up, preventing extruding

What causes this chewing up of filament?
I've had it stop extruding anything mid-print a few times in a row, and every single time it has started making loud clicking noise at that point and the filament has had marks as in the pic.

I've tried both tightening and untightening the idler tensioner, hasn't helped.

After I remove and re-insert the filament (after cutting the chewed up part off), it starts to work again, temporarily.

The most common reason for filament chewing up in a 3D printer is due to a clogged or partially clogged nozzle causing increased pressure in the extruder. This increased pressure can cause the extruder gear to grind into the filament resulting in marks similar to the ones shown in your image and can also cause the filament to stop extruding mid-print. The loud clicking noise is a telltale sign of this issue.

To prevent this from happening, try cleaning or changing your nozzle and checking the extruder gear to make sure it is free of debris. You can also try decreasing the printing speed or adjusting the retraction settings in your slicer software to better control the extrusion of filament. Additionally, make sure your filament is not tangled or snagged and is feeding smoothly through the extruder.

It's a KP3S Pro. Only upgrade is an all-metal hotend. I'm printing PETG from Devil Design.

Swapped the nozzle too, trying again. Will also have to come up with a more permanent fix to my z end-stop screw, as my current solution is way too inconsistent, messing up the bed leveling

I guess this is all for this thread
