#absolutely no bed adhesion on pei sheet
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
If you have a textured PEI sheet and are still having bed adhesion issues, here are a few things you can try troubleshooting:
-
Calibration: Check to ensure that your printer's bed is properly calibrated. If the print is too close to the bed, it may not stick. If it's too far away from the bed, the adhesion will weaken.
-
Temperature: Ensure that you are printing at the proper temperature for the filament you are using and the recommended printing settings for the filament on the spool. If the temperature is too low, your filament won't adhere to the bed properly.
-
Extruder problems: Check that your extruder is not clogged, as this can cause filament jams and lead to poor adhesion.
-
Bed leveling: Ensure that your printer's bed is flat and level. Even a small amount of tilt can cause adhesion issues.
-
Surface Preparation: Ensure that the surface has been properly cleaned and that there is no residue left on the surface that could prevent adhesion. It is recommended to us...
You should use a brim for prints like that
They've got tons of tiny parts with very little surface area
Weird
Have you cleaned it properly?
what material
Yeah textured pei doesnt really like pla that much.. but you can work with it with extra steps
You might want to try some sandpaper
Eh I wouldn't recommend it on textured pei because the coating is so thin
Not very rough sandpaper, just enough to give it some more texture
They've said it worked 60 times before, so I dunno what else they can do
Do you mean smooth pei?
Because thats a thing
but textured has a coating so thin and easy to damage
There is one more thing to try
Regardless, in my experience PLA just hates textured pei @void birch I myself often use adhesives for it
Have you cleaned it with soap and water?
yes
It sounds weird, but soap and water can work wonders
I'm talking to eevee
I know and I said yes because they said it already
uhh how much
how much acetone did you use exactly

Yeah eh, if its not working after that then its a goner
Also try to stick to smooth pei for pla prints
Yeah acetone is a last resort thing.. i'm surprised
Textured pei can work great, there's something else going on
Yeah those sheets for sure need sandpaper then they're amazing
You could try some steel wool instead of sandpaper
It's apparently much gentler on it
Pei can just do that sometimes
Like I said, steel wool can revitalize it
Yeah, that could definetly cause some wear and tear on the bed
