#Trying to setup rpi with klipper inside a network
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
It sounds like you are trying to connect to the Raspberry Pi that is running Klipper remotely from another computer, but the school network is blocking non-school devices from accessing the network.
One option could be to create a separate network for the 3D printers that is not connected to the main school network. This way you can connect to the printers without any issues.
Another option could be to use a VPN service to connect to the school network remotely. However, you would need to get permission from the school IT department to set up the VPN and ensure that it is secure.
Lastly, you could consider using a USB drive to transfer the G-code files from your computer to the Raspberry Pi. This would eliminate the need for remote access altogether. You could then start the print jobs directly from the Raspberry Pi.
Overall, it's important to prioritize network security and follow school policies to avoid any potential issues.
Seperate network!
well how so?
Also i honestly dont think you should flash klipper
Just flash octo
U dont needa reflash ALL the boards
And run octofarm
some of the printers use some very old firmware, and the slicers are hard to use.
Just use prusaslicer and set to marlin legacy
And if thats the case klipper isnt supported
Also your probably voiding warranty
they dont use marlin legacy, they use some older gcode flavor
warranty is far gone :p
Theres nothing older than legacy lol
Its legacy
Still a pita
its like the makerbot gcode
Oh its makerbot
yeah
Yeah… your not getting klipper on that
Just try octo
still want to manage the other printers
I have, not a fan of it, dont see the point of it tbh...
If you want easier management thats what your going to get
Octo
Klipper will be a royal pain in the ass
Ive used it for a whole year
im considering just making a network that I could connect to
half and half for both
4 minus makerbot
2 of the e3ps have thermal runaway so thats fun
the other one is a dremel machine
def want at least the e3ps
fair enough
Klipper literally has no advantage
I dont want to really -_-
easier firmware mods
and also remote if I get it working
which is with octo but-
Why would you want to change the firmware on a library machine?
Like so the librarians dont get bored?
Theres literally no difference
if I choose klipper or octo
One is just a pain in the ass
