Prusa PETG, randomly underextruding

AI Help

Underextrusion in Prusa PETG can have several causes:

  • The printer nozzle may be partially clogged due to debris or burned filament. It's recommended to clean the nozzle using a cold pull or by using a cleaning filament.
  • The Prusa PETG may be too brittle, causing it to crack and create clogs in the extruder. Ensure that the filament is stored properly in a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption.
  • The extruder gear may be worn out or damaged, causing it to slip and not push the filament sufficiently. Check the gear teeth for signs of wear and replace the gear if necessary.
  • The printer settings may need to be adjusted, such as the temperature and retraction settings. Check the Prusa slicer settings to make sure they are correct for the specific Prusa PETG filament you are using.

Try these steps to see if they help alleviate the issue with underextrusion.

Also just realized I’m an idiot and printed PETG on a smooth plate 😐

Honestly I think it’s just the room the thing is in. I had to move it to a super drafty/humid room for the time being and I think I’m just stuck until I can move it out.
