awesome! what plastic and paint are you using?
Filament was Overture mate PLA in grey, I use acrylic paint from various brands
Holy shit
This is freaking good
As someone in engineering school I can't even draw straight lines and my man here painting like a pro
girl
That part is so intricate I gotta be messy with the first layer as to cover every nooks and crannies.
But the general aesthetic Iโm aiming at is the Beastโs castle
This is honestly amazing, Emma. You keep impressing me ๐
Wow
yooooooo this is just getting better
I got 1 question tho, I see you are have some experience in painting, since you printed it all black did you put some white cover as first layer and then print with colour or? I have to go throw something similar it's not as detailed as this tho.
It was originally printed in mate grey, I primed it black. depending on how much pigment the paint you use have it's sometimes not necessary to prime in white for certain colors , the cream color was a pain because the pigments were weak and I needed to apply several coats, I decided to prime the roof parts in white to avoid repeating the issue.
thank you and i wanna see more of this for sure
I dunno when I'll make another miniature, but for sure o/
If you get filler primer, that helps a ton because that's very sandable ๐
(I know this is a bit late to chime in, but I just noticed this :p )
I will get that soon friend recommended it as well
Depends on the size of what you work on, but it is super useful ๐
And sponge sandpaper
I will add sponge sandpaper on list
And she told me that her bro uses some kind of paste like construction paste but can't find that in my region
Be carful with it. Anytime I print something that I really like, it ends up falling on the floor and break a few times. Weather it be from my hand and I didnโt see it, causing it to fall on the floor and break into a ton of pieces, they will always find a way to fall into the floor and break.
honestly
that's insane man
Plasto works great ๐ It's a filler, sort of like plaster in a tube. I use that a lot ๐ That, and superglue if I need to fill out small gaps that are very exposed, like the edge of a sword
You also can use resin mixed with talc powder, but the downside is you need to wear gloves religiously when working with that
One sorta hacky trick I came up with is filling a gap with baking soda(the powder) and then applying a thin superglue. It will soak right into the powder and turn rock hard
?crackfix
Did you get any pics with the dome on, Emma? ๐
