Usually tangle is user error
Yup
I’ve used sunlu for like a year and a half and I print A LOT. I have had no issues and have really good print quality
sunlu is shit but there's no way it could tangle in the middle of the roll, that was on the user
Bro Sunlu is good asf dawg I literally printed out an RC plane with it lol
What isn’t good is Amazon basics
That is terrible
i didnt touch it
i assume you're factoring in their sketchy business practices?
Well let’s be honest. Most companies are sketchy as shit with some of the stuff they do
fair point
Okay being honest tho. Sunlu pla has great quality except for the stringing. God the stringing is awful
This usually means you're printing too fast and/or too cold
Well if that’s the case that’s interesting
Because I print at 220 and I have speeds at 100mm/s
Which is technically fast but I’ve calibrated it to do so
That's fairly fast for these temps
Ender 5 btw
So also low melt zone
100mm/s on 0.2 LH 0.4 LW can max out MK8 hotend depending on the filament and temps
Dude idk what you’re talking about bruh
I’ve gotten speeds of 180 printing really nice
I can send a vid
Each hotend can melt only limited amounts of filament in a given amount of time, we measure it in mm³/s, in case of MK8 this limit can be even as low as 7mm³/s
It's also question if you're reaching these speeds
I spent the wholeday beside my goddamm printer because of the sunlu tangling
Worst experience with a filament I have encountered yet
Question. I get mild tangle/binding.. usually just the one loop around.. but user error. how can i prevent this?/ what am i doing wrong?
Usually tangling comes from a loose end, if you let the filament end go it can bounce around on spool and go under part of a filament next to it causing a tangle. Usually prevention is just keeping the filament always held by something, if not you, then special holes in the spool or a filament clip
it hasnt stoped a print yet. always clicking out before the print gets messed up. but i live in fear of the day it doesnt
ok so just handling
ty
I print my sunlu at 215 and 65 and it is working great so far
For me, same filament but 200 and 60
Amen to that. I've got 2 spools of ABS just sitting on my workbench cause they don't produce good parts
so far between Sunlu and Overture, Sunlu have given me far more superior results, no tangle issues.
I have two spools of Sunlu sitting around being useless bc they suck
I just found this thread while looking for a solution to my problem, now I'm wondering if it could be the sunlu filament I'm using?
Basically my prints keep failing because the filament is oozing and globbing up.
It ruined my original extruder, just completely filled every crevice with molten plastic.
Just got a new one and installed it today, the very first print got most of the way done before it stuck to the nozzle (may have gotten blocked) then just globbed up out of the nozzle.
I can't even bring myself to open it up and see the damage.
i second this
The terrible bed adhesion of sunlu messed my extruder up too
i agree it doesnt have the best bed adhesion but it cheap so...
And you can buy in bundles
Would using hairspray or a gluestick fix that enough or is it just bad regardless?
If you use enough glue it'll stick most of the time
I haven't tried hairspray
Without glue there's like a 2% success rate
works for me pretty much every time with no glue
Glass bed or textured?
build tak style
I have glass bed
