wooo, mine's got lucky i see
u mean anonymous right
ya
360 movement is about to be 🔥 on Roblox 🤣👏
ngl
having analog movement in Fallout: New Vegas is a game changer
not that avoiding traps was that hard anyway

was expecting from comments on earlier analog kbs that the gamepad mode would be kinda niche and hard to make use of bc short travel etc
its much better than expected
resident evil with analog is actually goated
RE4 with keyboard, using full controller mapping actually feels pretty fluid
actually, I'll post my profile for it if anyone wants to give it a go

Resident evil 4 remastered is going to be lit
it does use the numpad though, so no 60% plebs
My favorite resident evil out of all
yeah, but I'm kinda worried we'll lose some of the cheesy B-cast horror shit

and they also might make ashley not-a-major-pain-in-the-ass
which means I don't have to tell her to hide in the corner like the little b*tch she is any more
and that would hurt my soul
Who even thought of putting that icon there?
that's one of the alternative uses for it
works quite well for it tbh
Absolutely does, and now I even have two so I can go akimbo
But I wonder who exactly put it there
it's just...
when they said something along the lines of "re-envisioning"
I got a touch worried we'll lose some of what made RE4 really shine
ashley calling me a pervert when I'm technically looking up her skirt climbing a ladder

I guess people can get the woot woot started from the wooting wrist rest 😂
99% I'm feeling it's not going to be as cheesy for sure
First we clapping legends, then we clapping cheeks
But I do hope they compensate for more horror/darky eerieness
tbh, some of the models also look really tired today
they'll definitely be able to make all the enemies you fight a lot more...grotesque
Mendez comes to mind as one who could definitely make me a bed-wetter again
more than 7 months of waiting down to less than one day remaining
My man Erik being kinky
anyone with the lekker switches able to describe how the rapid trigger and high actuation point feels when playing valorant/osu?
it feels like pressing the key
i hope u realize youre asking for a highly subjective metric
well right now i use 2 mm actuation switches and ive used 1 mm before and the difference was huge like the board was reading my mind that's how quick the inputs felt
but ofc releasing a key takes longer since it has further to go
well as u said urself thats what it felt like
u might reexperience this again with a lekker based keyboard
yeah but rapid trigger + less than 1 mm actuation would probably be unreal
especially since they dont have any keychording
what's keychording?
the keyboard splitting pressed keys into different polls
so if u press 12keys it might send 6 at one poll and the others at the next
like chords
depends on polling rate
ah i see
tiny fractions of a second though
but no chording
wooting polls at 1k hz iirc
so u get all keys u actually pressed every poll
at this point ur fingers might be more limiting than the keyboard
for rythm games
yeah for sure
replace with pusher connected to light sensors
also might not recommend rapidtrigger for rythm games

at least with like .4 mm or less sensitivity
as ull be more likely to reactivate the key and get a miss
or 2
or 10
depends on if u have shaky hands or not really
lol
yeah i will have to do a lot of experimenting
correct
which is great because you can find exactly what you like best
so asking wont really give u much info
u will always have to experiment and find what suits u
whats the actuation/bottom out force on lekker switches?
and what feels right for you
60cn bottom out
and lekker switches are the main reason so many people like this board right
actuation force depends on where ur actuation point is
well more the features
the switches are simply sliders embedded with magnets
no doubt the switches feel good themselves
like customization features?
the PCB and firmware are the real magic
but the features of the mcu are the real mvp
yes
and wootility being an actually usable program
and that it all runs on the keyboard
no software required except for changing the settings
requires chrome or edge
how good is tachyon mode?
good
or is it more gimmicky
well u will deffo notice that it activates at the slightest touch
and it feels rather direct to many people
its not a gimmick tho
it actually makes all keys be scanned at the same rate as the polls happen
unlike many other 1khz boards that add debounce etc
which can cause 20ms or more delay
incredible
and they arent done working on it so dw
welp i hope it comes really soon cause i cant wait lmao
ull most likely love it
worth the wait
like the broad response to any of the wootings basically was people like them
my 60% has arrow keys so ill probably miss those but other than that i think everything will be an improvement
for typing, playing games, making music as a midi controller, bashing in their siblings head
or just as a nice cutting board for bread like i use mine
I use mine as a zakuski platter while I play games with my controller
👌
so yes, my wooting smells like pickles and cold cuts
u call ur pp weird names bro
@normal stream when did you order the keyboard
I call it Pink Lemonade
Game compatibility is the larger issue
I dig this theme.
September or something
Whenever the preorders were
BRuh mine was suppose to come 3 days ago

putting on the strap was a pain i can't lie
how does continuous rapid trigger work?
no idea but it seems useless. i think it's for input spammy games.
rapid trigger for just top-tier performance everything and analog input for racing games that allow dual input
analog input in FPS would be the fantasy, but that's a dream that only fortnite players can taste right now
for real though what does continuous rapid trigger do?
Can we please have a white version of the tray? Like exactly the same design as it is now, but in white? That would be so clean 😎
the explanation doesn't make enough sense for my pea brain to comprehend 😦
nvm figured it out, it just makes sense if you use a lower actuation point
Yes you got it
The world wants pink!
!!!
@umbral totem i still never gave you the wrist rest rest. But I guess I'll have to make a few more because I only have one extra rn
what if i want a wrist rest rest rest
what if I want a wrist rest rest that I can use while using my wrist rest, anodised pink?

oh, and maybe a wall-mounted wrist rest rest rest for when I need to store away my wrist rest rest
Can be made
You can wall mount this one
But I wouldn't recommend it
I don't like screws
Maybe glue
glue is for sniffing
not securing things
that's what screws are for
with suitable pilot holes

Enough holes
And I'd glue this
Yes not a lot of surface area but
Is not a heavy wrist rest
There's probably something like
tbh
that with some double sided tape
probably plenty sufficient for a few hundred grams of wrist rest
no need to use valuable glue you could sniff instead :)
But yeah these wist rest rests
I wonder how much animo there is
They're stainless steel now
But what if i got copper or brass xd (no)
I mean possible but will be expensive
then it would be unaffordable and way too heavy
mainly the latter for the brass option tbh
Not really
no way glue or double sided tape would hold it up
It's a stand
and we're talking about wall mounting it, no?
did you have any issues with tachyon mode or anything? when i used my custom cable it was randomly typing in tachyon mode.
We do not know exactly what aspect of custom cables might affect it yet, but could you let me know if it was also a coiled cable?
Then if you want to keep using your custom cable, you need to decrease your keyboard brightness. This will pull less volt from the cable and make it more stable.
We have the following theories:
- Custom cables are not certified and can't keep constant voltage or voltage required by keyboard with brightness to the max. Voltage drops will cause the hall sensors to trigger.
- The coiled cable is causing a strong electro magnet (EM) field due to it being coiled copper and slimly shielded, causing it to radiate a strong EM when pulling a lot of voltage (for the RGB backlight on max)
well, if its useful to know, I had my rgb turned completely off and it was still bugging out
but i built my cable from a DIY kit online so it was probably really bad quality
Is it also coiled?
(For my record as you are third person that is custom cable related)
yeah its coiled and the coiling is garbage lmao i did it myself with a heatgun but theres still like 15 turns in the coil just very sore on the eyes
i think the insulation on my cable is also extremely thin so it doesnt do a good job at blocking EMF
well coiling also adds well a coil to the circuit
basically an air core inductor
and i realised that yesterday when it wad suggested to lower rgb brightness to make the small audio source go away from the keyboard
Rip my coiled cable.
Pink Gang 🤘🏼
No issues for me, but I only use 100% brightness in my typing profile, my rapid profile is set to 50% brightness with tachyon on. Also my cable isn't coiled so I suppose I'm lucky
so there should be a safe distance for coiled cables not to affect? or the length of the coil affects the distance?
in fact that would make me not buy a coiled cable, which is really good for my wallet 😄
Don't know for sure yet, but it's more likely that a custom cable in general is just poorly shielded and isn't up to par than that the coiled shape of the cable is emitting magnetic fields. The latter needs to be tested.
I would have tested it if I had my wooting 60he
Lmao just ordered a coiled cable 15 mins ago
I was looking at coiled cables and just saw this - guess its best to stay away.
Say I did want to change the cable to match the colour of my setup - am I okay using most USB C cables - I believe I need to be careful of length due to the RGB effects if I'm right??
btw, what is the keycap profile? I couldn't find on wooting.io
I mean the stock PBT keycap profile
OEM profile
My cable is silver plated copper, with each conductor having its own plastic sleeving, no coils, and I'm having zero issues with it. My normal typing profile is at 100% brightness without tachyon, my rapid profile is 50% brightness with tachyon, and I'm not getting any weird behavior tbh
And it's does not look like there's really any EMI shielding on my cable 🤷🏼♂️
I suspect it might just be the combination of some cables being coiled and badly shielded maybe
idk how long u wanted ur cable to be but 2m is fine
pretty sure the included ones are 1.8
Thanks Tony, just looking for a Purple one and wanted to make sure. 1.8 is fine anyways but I was just checking 🙂
just make sure its not coiled lol
or if its coiled that the wire is shielded as that should minimize the inductance if any even occurs then
Haha, the idea came from Kevin. Spank responsible,
What case is this
so give kevin some company paid spank sessions eith a pro
obviously kevin tried to tell you something
Should be tofu60, no?
Someone here posted this(https://youtu.be/D9yI-YoRnGs), I'd say the difference of self-lubing vs stock lube is worth it. Their number row is stock so you can hear the difference better
#Wooting60HE #soundtest
All switches hand lubed with Krytox 205g0, no film (Number row NOT lubed for sound comparison)
Mostly stock configuration except cables.
-
Stock keycaps except Space Bar, Enter, Escape
-
Stock stabilizers (Will fine tune later)
-
All included foams left in.
-
Two layers of tape mod (Electrical Tape, not Gaffers/Pai...
@/ChrisP same discord @ as YT name
sounds really creamy but couldn't here the number row
oh my bad sorry
yeah, sounds worth it
above my budget
If you can afford the 60he, a tofu shouldn't be that far off I imagine :o
It's like 50% of what the 60he costs
Sure does
I'm trying to find ISO keycaps in some kind of earth tone. I have a walnut case right now which I think I'm going to put the 60he in. But I want something that matches that. Any recommendations? Please send in DM
Depending on how much you want to spend - I found a nice Walnut set on Etsy - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1039703936/wooden-keycap-solid-walnutnatural-wood?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=walnut+keycaps&ref=sc_gallery-1-1&frs=1&plkey=836b31d0f4b02cc1da27da423e17657508311176%3A1039703936
This + that oil you put on wood
"a little pricey" goddamn that's alot
Makes me remember those porcelain keycaps. They where so crispy
Yeah it is, I imagine that you could maybe find some cheaper but it would look sick AF, I also saw wooden ones with the legends on them
I wanted to get a set of those porcelains
Aren't those even less pricey than the wood ones?:D
Most likely. Just can't get over the sound of them
And I think they don't really look that nice
It's interesting, but nothing I would put on my main board for extended amounts of time
I also really like these if that would go with the wood https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1168721581/coffee-shop-20-keycap-set-afsa-profile?click_key=e9b7c153acae0fea96033c67496b4dd1087cf45b%3A1168721581&click_sum=3111ea91&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=brown+keycaps&ref=sr_gallery-1-5&organic_search_click=1&frs=1
That's more in style I would say.
Yeah I think I want Purple Taro keycaps - it’s my favourite colour and I like the two tones of purple throughout
Quick question, does anyone know some really nice looking KAT sets?
I love my DSA milkshakes but I would've gotten kat if I didn't miss the GB, and I'm still really interested in checking out that profile
Yeah they look really cool. The yellow I think looks a little bit out of place.
Yeah it does a little, the set does come with the purple mod keys too if you don't want to use the yellow
I think this would also look nice with the wooden color
I thought that it was reasonably priced. Until shipping + taxes came 😢
I think having all your mod keys (esc, ctrl etc) as wood would be clean and then finding a nice keycap for the centre could look good too.
I don't know sorry 😦
my biggest issue is also losing the dampeningf from the foam
Yeah though I found ones where you buy for like 3$ a keycap
wait what what is this, where is this?
👍
starts with row2 right? I mean the escape is in row2 size?
and can anybody tell me what is the size of the spacebar? 7u or 6.25u?
anyone in Italy received their order yet? mine departed from frankfurt over 40 hours ago and still didn't make it to "country of destination"
Batch EU-Gamma btw
Tofu60 E-Pink
Silicone pour >>>> poron foam
Also I was a little disappointed with the density of the foam in the 60he, but I replaced all of it with silicone
Kat Cyberspace is YUMMY af too, but only available from international vendors
I swear this discord is going to make me empty my bank account
Also it's a typical keyreative story from what I've heard, legends off center and such. Just not very nice QC
Mine is literally empty rn
i believe it is 6.25u
What kind of sense does that make? They are already agreed upon from the factory or not
What?
Nice, is This a tofu60 case ?
they come prelubed from the factory
but factory lube is consistently pretty shit lol
it really is worth it to remove all the old stuff and do it yourself
Ah okay thanks 🙂
tbh, I would have wish the lekkers came bone dry so I could save some time and effort getting rid of the old stuff
but...then you'd get a worse stock experience which a majority would likely not bother to improve so....
I admire you. I just smothered my 205g0 over the factory lube.
ma man. i m lookin at that too.
Or the blade in E-Yellow
decided screw it
if i dont like it then its not much of a loss if at all
absolute bargain regardless of colour even if i use for afuture project
@tulip sage
it does look nice on your pics tbh
Wait, how is this so cheap lol
They did a clearance
I believe we have that alu case in the office and used for the instruction video
Ahh

i got from ali instead because of delivery
Wooting garage sales also coming soon D:
with kdbfans via their site its $40 delivery
auch, but yeah, heavy piece of alu
Well, 0get working on that pink first 😉
mod tap is a pita sometimes
xD
trying to make a face
Yes which is why i did it via the ali store and not the site
pain in the ass is pita
You should turn off rapid trigger on the Mod tap keys if you notice you often mispress them
That's what worked a wonder for me 👍
i dont use rapit trigger
I can't wait for these caps bro 👀
Check out #archived_wootility_lekker_feedback
I often repress of half press my right shift for different scenarios
maybe on the 60he it will get increased
I was originally thinking of getting a Blade60 in pink but went with the Tofu because idk much about o-ring mounting at all or if it’s more difficult than normal
No idea more looking at the keycaps.
Can't do much wrong for the price anyway...
Btw. those blank keycaps are just kinda trash to be honest...
Spacebar is completly warped and some keys are twisted slightly, so they are slightly turned...
But i only got some pink key caps that i can spare and ye i'm not to sure if the board will stay like that lol
://blank keycaps? Or blank ones
Yes those ://blank caps
@tulip sage yo what case is that, where did u buy it
shit that looks nice
It's the KBDFANS Aluminium low profile, dirt cheap on aliexpress.
Paid like 23€ shipped to Germany via DHL.
Same Case that @uncut light ordered
what caps?!?
@tulip sage wooow thats a steal
any link for UK
sec
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
cheaper if you sign up with a new email
because everytime i go on ali express cant get anything in UJ
Any defect, let us know and we can send over replacements.
To be fair these keycaps are not 100% up to our level, hence we don’t call them Wooting or have any logos on there.
is there a black one?
@tulip sageWhat caps?
But regardless you problem should not be the case
yo fuk it cyan it is lol
tbh i just got it as its a good way into alum
i was always tempted but putg off by price
Those are just the Corsair PBT ones...
is this the lowest 60% case you've seen?
the legends ared so bad
price?
cool
if the legends weren't so awful i would
corsair and their gamer legends
yoooo 14.20£ for that case lmao what a bargain
i love this color
Ye i mean i would rather get my money back from those but i don't really want to deal with that 😄
I don't like the structure too... They feel so smooth, more like ABS Caps.
So even if i get a set that is flawless, i would not use them to be honest

i was also tempted with these ngl
Ye the legends are not really my taste either... But find decent german iso keycaps that doesn't cost a lot
I was thinkin about the metal one a while back but never ordered it, I'll probably just use the keyboard as a module

I only have a mousepad at the moment, haven't had a deskpad in a while
@tulip sage what kind of foam or tape u used on that case?
the onei in the 60he
but afaik not all could be used
can you share any pics or sound asamples?
really i can use the stock one
I mean it looks kinda nice... We'll see if i try different caps.
@tired cove Well i used the lower foam part of the wooting case, the top part is just on there with double sided tape
lol
@uncut light u think well get that case delivered in like a month?
Now that’s culture
says 29july
Are you ordering from AliExpress
ive had ali items come in a weekl
@eternal sleet ye
its just an estimate
daamn
We have no choice.... on kdbfans its $40 delivery
color is my only issue with it but it doesn't look to bad
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
yeaj same

wanted a black one but w/e
gold since it looks pinkish
eewww
So my case took exactly 2 weeks to arrive, from order to delivery.
🤤
says order in dispute, order processing wtf
on ali?
o ok it takes time i guess
its just ebay
Varmilo Dyesubs are quite nice. I bought a used Varmilo for 80, kept the caps and sold it with other caps for 90
Razer pinks are somewhat appealing ngl
ik group buys are suggested but like
cant be bothered dealing with them
i hear all sorts of bad things
For small companies group buys makes sense. But for larger companies group buys just becomes an hassle for consumers.
for sure, but i just casnt be bothered... its like a never ending wait in a lot of cases
or terrible QC
Even wooting cant get perfect qc nvm someone in their livingroom
This is what i want in terms of colours tbh
its the reason i started liking pink keebs
sadly varmilo dont have a 60% version either
so i cant just buy that
@tulip sage i just realized it doesn't have any grippy feet, did u get those separate or?
It comes with 4 rubber grippy feet, for each corner + those 2 aluminium feet, which have rummer in them too
im closed to justy buying the akko board i ahve but in 60% form
and reusing the case/caps
seems way easier, 60% is becoming less common it seems
@tulip sage cool because on pic wasn't showing them
i had super hard time trying to find ISO keycaps for UK
shits a joke
in the end got corsair
imagine using ansi yuck
i just want cute pink keycaps and a case, is thtat to much to ask
@tired cove To be be honest the Corsair PBT Caps are actually really good...
They have a nice grippyt texture, are cheap and ye i like those, specially for the prioce
yeah not bad @tulip sage
Bro the keyboard is so fast I will be watching TikTok and have my finger resting on my keyboard it will just start typing on my old keyboard I had to bottom out my switches. Big upgrade and we’ll need thanks for the fast updates a great customer support wooting I got my keyboard in Australia in no time to thanks wooting.
XDA PBT is bad right.
Finally had some time to set up the keyboard with my pc. Had only had a chance to use it with my laptop as I am currently moving (disregard the absolute state of my wiring and room) . But having used it for just a day now with my usual set-up; It feels absolutely amazing and I love it.
same!
im considering lubing all the switches but ive never even opened up a keyboard
the entire thing is a little intimidating
you won't have to
get a switch puller
board is hotswap
switches are contactless so you can't actually make the switches non-functional with too much lube
the 60HE may literally be the perfect board to start keyboard modding
oh damn thats awesome
i didnt even realize
thanks!
is it worth waiting for this wooting lube kit to be released or should i just get any generic kit?
i think calder talking about them releasing a lube kit soon in one of his videos if im not mistaken
I don't know what's in the lube kit, so I can't say
oh right
wooting delivers good stuff for fair prices though, so I'm personally waiting
cool
just got mine and there's a pretty significant issue, when I press backspace the board rocks diagonally. anyone else have have this?
Table?
Or your keyboard is warped some how, my table isn't even got a desk mat and fixed my issue
seems like one of the feet is messed up
flip it over and check the back
i swear to god that factory's QA

its hard to capture the right perspective of the feet but i can show that they do not sit flush
ill send pics
Idk about you but it looks warped a bit to me
this is the ok side
...that's gotta be at least 100 quid after tax and shipping
yikes
this is the magical side
did someone pre-order the keyboard on November and got it
If you have not got your keyboard yet everyone should double check if they got air freight
is there a mod i could maybe dm about this?
@uncut light
11 to be exact
earn your tofu, soyboi
For this sort ofd thing if they are not correct you should contact us via email to sort out a replacement part.
I can see on the pictures there is a difference.
Hey there, as suggested, please sent an email to social@wooting.io using the email address associated with your order.
Please include;
Name
Order Number
Description of the situation
Please give Wooting a couple of (business) days to respond
gotcha, sorry i didnt mean to scare everyone in the server. ill proceed through email
I dont think anyone will get scared, things slip through no matter how good QC is.
Even so it will get resolved.
Calder is to much of a perfectionist....
Lekker keycaps alone took a year or so for a reason xD
still came out pre-cracked

Aye there was some issues with Lekker but getting to there was a long process.
There's just some things you cant fully control sadly.
did someone pre-order the keyboard on November and got it
my 60he is seemingly flawless
wait really LMAO
to be fair
these are the best linears to ever exist sooo
same with my 60he
I did
damn I didn’t get my keyboard
did you have air freight?
Otherwise you can expect it to arrive in the next couple of weeks. Also I live in the netherlands close to their EU+INTL warehouse, so I had it within days of it arriving there. If you live further away it can take a little while.
not the switches, the keycaps
Im going to be swapping my keycaps case and cable so im gucci
bruh my keyboard says its coming tomorrow when the warehouse is 10 minutes away from house
I payed for air freight but I live in the UAE so maybe I will get the keyboard in couple of days
@sly hollow which case will you be using? I'm eyeing up the blade so I can have a poor man's Fjell lol
honesty ill go for blade 60 also
I wish they still had the Lake Blue that color was gorgeous. Probably going to go with the purple instead
I'm going for black honesty
I asked KBDFans they said theres no plans to restock any colors
I sorta do have a black and bronze sorta set up going
or like
black bronze copper kinda look
Very classy i approve lol
Damn they only have Cyan. I sadly have a highly used board in that color =/
You might as well, I’ll also publish a video on how to lube
Could you try to see if the screws from the PCBA, accessible from the plate when removing the keycaps, were over tightened into the tray case
Generally we want to find root cause, then report to factory to correct and find out how to can slip QC
And we will of course get your fixed 🙂
This may be important but I found it a pain to unscrew the top screws of the pcba (it ruined my screw bit after). Had to use something more beefy/thick plus there was paint on top of my screws which made it more difficult than the back screws
i had 0 issues unscrewing them or damaging the paint of the screw
i used my trusty JIS 0 bit
Def QC then
Mine were bad, idk if my keyboard even works, haven't plugged it in yet but it was so bad I hope it didn't damage the pcba
Ones underneath were a breeze compared to my top ones
Very noticeable
can u link which double sided tape u used pls, my first time actually modding a keeb properly
For those who have their 60HE in the US, did UPS handover the package to USPS the same day as delivery or a day before?
if ups is handing off to usps then it's surepost
the usps side will handle it as regular mail, but the handoff process can take a long time
large queue
Anyone here done a tape mod on the 60he ? I got some scotch 33+ laying around here that I've only used to fix my loose keycaps, but I might aswell tape mod if it's worth it
Tape mod or tempest mod ruins the sound of the switch if you are into that kind of thing, also makes your keyboard sound way more Poppy. Foam is preferred to be substantial, It also wouldn't hurt to try if you haven't before, Just another preference imo. For me I've done Tape mod once and I never want to do it again
Poppy sounds pretty cool to be honest, and kinda fits my build theme I guess. I'll have to open the board up at least once more anyways to fix my stab rattle (which I might just try with stab shrinks cause by God I despise holee modding, especially having to clean off the XHT BDZ from my stabs so the tape sticks)
So thanks for your take, sounds pretty cool to me
I did two layers by the way
Also if anyone is searching for good plate mounted stabs, asceny stabs are really good. Tried durock smokey blacks on my w1, and they're pretty good, but ascenys have such tight tolerances it's amazing. Taking them out is kind of hassle because of how tight they sit
Will probably try exactly that
Thank you for this
If they are tight I might just roll with zeal
I like to stab mod so tight fit is no bueno for me
Yeah I had to pull off the plate to jam the stabs back out from the underside, they're really THAT tightv
Dang
But I think the 60he got their tolerances down pretty good cause I had to do the same for the lekker switches
Did you holee mod?
O dang
But it's fabric tape, and pretty thick so kinda mushy
Might try scotch 33 next time around, I'm giving away my decked out w1 to a friend whose blackwidow is.. let's call it's battle scarred
xda is one of the shortest profiles
Like half his space bar is missing

And the costar stabilizer apparently went off to a better life cause I couldn't find it anywhere
DSA is shorter I think, but the keycap dish is smaller which some people don't like
HE'S a good friend, he let me live in his room for half a year when I had some serious beef with my mom a few years back
Very nice and kind gesture, I'm sure your friend will like the keeb
right, but they were saying they were too tall
Currently trying to bet on a plate
He sure will, I just told him to treat it better than the blackwidow cause I've poured about 25 hours of modding time into that board
Sheeeeesh
25?!
First time lubing and filming switches , which took a while
Me 6 hours maximum
Also did it with silicone grease first, then removed and went 205g0
i was thinking about going with the blade but i dont like the asymmetrical design
Lubing flaretechs is a chore tho lemme tell you
Like lubing consistently without fucking up the optical components
I can't dedicate 25 hours to a keeb, I just can't, very impressive
Well I didn't think I could either, but when you fuck up your keeb after the first mod, you kinda have to fix it
i got them mixed up with SA
You mean carpal caps?
yeah they look similar, i get them mixed up too lol
xda are really nice in my opinion
i ordered a set of sa keycaps because i like the look and the sound of them
Sa looks really good yeah, kinda menacing
But I had my wrist broken once so they're a no go for me
yeah that cream color is really nice
Anyone know a guy with an e coating rig maybe?
Urr nachos customs?
Like actually? Or does he just do spray paint?
@hallow sphinx I'm actually proud to say I was one of the people who encouraged Nacho to start Cerakoting. He can do any color at this point. There is also a few guys in the EU who do it
That's awesome! Would you be so kind to name a few places I can try in the EU? If I could skip US customs that would be amazing
@hallow sphinx
https://twitter.com/dovacustoms/status/1392832196868771843?t=ulV_yWqOAZc4HG_Tb_S7Zg&s=19
Dova does phenomenal work and he's UK based
Will check hin out, thanks !
Although UK tax is also gonna suck, not nearly to the same degree as US tho
You can do that or send them the $ and they buy it, customize it, then ship it back
Just noticed his last tweet is from August last year, and it's about him stopping taking commissions :(
Of course that's not the tweet that pulled up when I searched him... my bad man.
Any other place besides nacho you know of ?
I just wouldn't mind my alu plate being changed colour lol
In the EU the only other one I know of is https://www.reddit.com/u/rec0nkill?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Cryo and Nacho are the other 2 and they're both I'm Cali now
You appear like a back alley dealer who always knows a guy who's got exactly what you need
I appreciate it!
Lol no problem I just started talking to alot of those guys to learn how to paint my own. I would honestly try to do the same as them if my job and kids weren't such a handful right now
Lets goo
Enjoy!
i think resin cases look really nice for the price
and it has a deeper sound profile like plastic cases which i prefer
will the wooting 60 pcb fit in the 5 degree case by kbdfans?
is that case DZ60 compatible?
yes
I saw that one too, but couldn't find it in aliexpress store, am i missing it, or is it not available in ali?
the 5 degree case?
this also has free shipping
the resin one though
oh
thats a different case

onyl 30 dollars here
tbh I really like the wooting 60he case 😄
I will try to change the strap to orange and color is fine for me too
and was anodised aluminium
ended up getting this case
So, hitting del or F1 if you want to get into the BIOS and only have a 60HE connected, anyone?
Also, how do I get a role if my discord is already linked but nothing has happened 🙂
FN + 1 will still get your F1
Hmm interesting, I wasn't having any luck at all, was only annoying because I had just changed the CPU so had to get into it! I'll give it another go next time I reboot - thanks
Good choice, I wish the blade came in a few more colors tho. White's too basic for my liking and none of the other colors really match my keycaps
understandable
im going for an all black keyboard so this works fine for me
tofu60 is a really nice case if you're interested in that
i think this board has a "break in" period
im using it for about a week now and it sounds even better
its a tofu60 case ?
Nope it's a blade 60
I personally think the blade looks better but I’m not done modding mine yet
this looks super clean man :o
are you planning on getting different keycaps
I'm getting my lube stuff this week and keyboard next week.
Gonna put it all in my Fjell R5 if it fits
Will probably be endgame for a while.
I probably going to use Tofu for the simple clean look
Awesome case could you make some side view pics for me 🤘
^^ I would also like to see the side profile
original case would have fit your monitor better it seems 😄
i'm in love
Put the strap on it!!
That's what she said
Les fucken go
Lucky man you are, the fjell is awesome
Just hope it fits 😂
Why wouldn't it? Looks like standard gh60 layout to me, plus being able to remove the two middle posts (wish my 5° didn't have those)
Yes, I can remove them.
Oh man I just wish I was already into keyboards when the Sirius 60 came out
Custom plate with standoffs and voila, would be my personal 60HE endgame
yo which films did you use?
Damn I want to know too, my deskeys films didn't fit because the Lekker sliders are wider than normal
That's unfortunate, do you maybe know which one would fit the lekker switches?
As far as I was concerned, none should fit. The only switch I know of that is that wide is the Lekker, so I thought we were doomed unless wooting decides to make their own films
In case that happens, silicone switch films please 🥺
that case is really expensive damn
It is, but also really unique. I don't know of any other acetal/pom 60% cases out there
its plastic?
.. yeah, its plastic xd
Me too, but we have these machines at work we use to apply screen protectors to phones, and the frames you put the phone into are made of acetal
And I've long become obsessed with this material
It feels so nice
Some water blocks for PC cooling are also made of acetal, it's just a really really nice plastic imo
its a top mount case, i dont think it would work
I do like the sound signature of plastic cases though
Like I said, you would need a custom plate. Just the standard 60HE plate with the top mount tabs
i got the blade60 specifically because it's really heavy lol
case swapped into a FreeBird 60 (excuse the picture quality and gunk on the board)
its like 2.5 pounds
what color are the keycaps?
Build looks very nice
The orange one in the back thooooo
the alphas are KFA navy and the mods are just ones I wasnt using from PBT Spark
that case is very clean. it looks like a tofu60 but better
I think thats basically what the idea is. It's pretty affordable and meant to be o-ring burger mounted without having to drill standoffs etc
why does the case look multicolored in that first pic?
lighting?
I think thats sunlight coming through a screen door
ohhh i see
does anyone know how much the case of the wooting 60he weighs by itself?
I can weigh it when I get home, but I suspect someone else might beat me to it
The one piece of advice I have for anyone looking to swap cases, and especially mess with mounting styles, is that the standoffs between the PCB and the Plate are basically essential. I know its a common thing to not use those standoffs on a lot of boards, but the switches attach to the PCB with just two plastic legs and they will come apart instantly
okay thank you :)
so, the blade60 has o ring mounting. would that affect anything?
im sorta new to all this
Blade60 is just standard gh60 without middle posts
And the posts are mounted with o ring on both sides
No worries!
but i wouldn't need to mess with the plate or pcb to mount it, right?
yes, as long as it has the tray mount posts itll be fine, though possibly redundant, because any "flex" is negated by the PCB standoffs
You could pretty much take the 60he sandwich out of the case and mount it in the blade with less screws and you're golden
Just don't overtighten the screws because it'll make the o rings useless
yeah you really just need to remove like 5 keycaps and move the whole thing over in one go
Custom plate with just 4 standoffs in the corners would be awesome
so i'd be stuck with the steel plate it comes with?
Yeah pretty much
Also the plate needs to be for plate mounted stabilizers , combined with the standoff requirement that limits your options (as in I haven't found any compatible plate so far)
what if you could attach standoffs to the plate?
Well in that case you just need some M2 standoff in the correct height (don't know exactly but I think it was around 3-3.5mm)
Aren't the plate files on github
that would work though right?
Like actually? Is there any link for that ?
Yes
thats a different board
Ah then disregard
thank you for trying to help though
Looks like 60HE design files haven't been posted yet
I don't think it's waiting on anything now that the first keyboards have delivered, I'll send a reminder
basically you need standoffs corresponding to the gold circles on on the plate
didnt mean to reply to you whoops
you mean like the ones on the blade?
That's what I mean by the four in the corners
no, they serve a different purpose\
Okay I think were mixing up standoffs here
The holes marked yellow (except for the two open slots left and right of the board) are for securing PCB and plate together
those 4 on the blade case are for securing the PCB/plate to the case. The ones that are in the picture are for securing the PCB to the plate. @hallow sphinx is talking about the latter
Way more efficient than I would have said it
I'll give it a shot right now and see if it works with just those 4
so just to confirm (im sorry) but the blade60 WILL work with this keyboard?
Yeah, absolutely will work
okay cool
Yeah it looks pretty cool
I think someone already did here, you just have to find the pic in the channel
This
@ripe prawn can you show the side profile please :D
Hey Ryan, I posted yesterday my Blade 60. The beauty of their decision to use the universal mounting posts means it literally take <5 minutes to drop the module (PCB/Plate) into the case. Just four mounting posts. The screw sizes are the same too, I double checked. You can use either the screws that come with the Blade or just reuse the stock ones from the 60HE. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.
I would like to get a freebird60 but
it's on preorder
but if I get tofu or blade 60
gonna have to wait due to kdbfans
😭
AliExpress store has 15day shipping I think, not to bad tbh
okay, thank you very much <3
ok so I have tried with just the corner 4 standoffs and it works fine actually
are you talking about the standoffs between the pcb and plate?
yup
is there more flex?
Any noticeable difference in board flex?
jinx :D
yes, but more importantly imo it's a lot less pingy. makes a world of difference in the sound
ooo
very monumental discovery we have made :o
was it hard the remove the other standoffs?
no, you literally remove 4 screws
one thing to note
these are two "posts" that are basically non-removeable standoffs. Im not sure how important they are @hallow sphinx but a custom plate may have to account for this
since the two non-removable ones are on one side, does that make the flex feel inconsistent across the board?
no. I mean there isn't a ton of flex anyway, its just a bit of a softer feel than before. Its still a steel plate and a tray mount at the end of the day.
Considering the posts literally just stick into the PCB and don't really provide much resistance from pulling the assembly apart, I suspect they might've only been there for alignment reasons
Thanks for trying without all the standoffs btw, that's probably something I'm gonna be doing soon then
Absolute unit
@ripe prawn do you know how much it weighs total?
Sorry man, I don't have a small scale for that kind of thing or have other hobbies that require me to weigh out small amounts on a table say. But I will say between the Blade aluminum case (website states 1130g) and the steel plate, it's probably on the heftier side of what you can do with a 60 layout.
ty ty
so im assuming around 1500g total probably if you include switches and keycaps
I got a 5°, completely built with a silicone dampener (weight) it come out at 1350g
And I think the blade is quite a bit heavier than the 5^
Unless you can find a custom 60 with this tray mount that also has a brass or steel plate option.
Yeah, I chose the Blade over a Tofu because it's significantly more volume of milled aluminium
@ripe prawn thats exactly why i chose it too lol
Just say it, you guys just want all the aluminum for yourself, greedy
I may throw a Killmat replacement for the case foam, which also adds quite a bit. Kinda just deadens the acoustics though, so +/-
(try a silicone pour, it's really really good and incredibly satisfying to have a dampener fill out your case so perfectly)
did you custom make yours? @hallow sphinx
Yeah, literally took the cheapest silicone mold mixture from Amazon that had prime shipping
A compatibility list, if you have confirmed a case not in here, let me know:
- Brand
- Model
- Link to case
Submit or request a review of a case by adding a comment or posting on discord
You just have to prop up one side of the case so it's perfectly level
And tape over all the holes in the case
would this work?
These are for alignment of the plate with pcba
I think so yes
Hey, guys! I decided to show you DIY-ers how to make your own silicone dampener to get rid of that pesky keyboard reverb. This is a very simple process and doesn't take long at all, and the result is very clean and professional-looking.
Let me know what you think in the comments!

7 oz is enough?
You just have to watch out not to make the dampener too thick, because the components on the underside of the PCB might interfere if the dampener is too thick
how do you know how high you need to make it then?
just dont go above the standoffs?
My brain is hardwired exclusively in metric, also I don't really know how much I used. Stuff is cheap enough that it didn't bother me wasting some of it, just make sure to dispose of waster after it's dry, those silicone mixtures get everywhere and aren't water soluble (poured some in my drain and had to use a lot of citric acid cleaner to get it off, it's oily and sticky and really persistent)
Definitely don't, I left around a millimeter of height between the dampener and the top of the post
okay okay
But you might wanna do 2mm actually, I underestimated how thick the chips on the PCB were
yeah i figured as much after playing with it for a little bit - thanks for confirming
I like to be able to swap out foams or other materials here and there, so I've not yet tried the pour yet, but seems like a cool idea to try.
It's a fine balance in removing the space entirely with something like silicone versus trying to use the empty space between the case and PCB to tune either the sound and/or flex
In this case, I just don't think it's possible to have that much flex with this kind of build. My opinion is the whole o-ring tray mount gimmick of the Blade is a pretty generous interpretation of it. It's not actually o-rings - they're basically these small foam stickers - the best you can do is not overtighten to get at least marginal benefit in flex/dampening from the "o-ring" mount.
The biggest benefit to the Blade are the higher standoffs that you can leverage for some mid board flex. I've rocked a PC plate with the KBDFans DZ60 and was able to get some moderate flex. You're just not gonna get that with a steel plate.
The silicone mold removes without any issue, it doesn't stick to the case.
I don't know about wooden cases, but from what I've read, metal and plastic cases don't stick to the silicone once it's set
FYI, for anyone concerned, the design/tolerance of the USB-C port on the PCB with the Blade (and I'd imagine Tofu) is fantastic. Without a daughter board design, what little flex you can get does not seem to put any stress on the USB-C connector.
At rest and with maximum pressure/flex
thats awesome
are you planning on getting different keycpas for your board or are you keeping the stock ones
Lol, yes, that's the ultimate test. But it looks like the window cut out of the case is generous enough not to put pressure on the USB-C unit even with max pressure. Honestly, with this case/plate, module does NOT move in the case with normal use.
personally id just file down the bottom of the cutout like half a millimeter or smth
just to make sure the plug actually doesnt bend it
I don't want to mess with the anodized or coated finish, even if it's just a minimal part that you'll never see
Honestly, this thing does not move
Hold up, are you one of my cats by any chance ?
These are pretty good as far as double shot PBT goes. North facing actually takes advantage of the shine through. I may put on a GMK set. Or try the Cerakey ones that are on their way. But as a gaming board, these PBT caps do the job.
ahh okay okay. i ordered a set of wob sa keycaps
you think sa would be too tall with the blade60?
Nah, probably better sound profile if anything. The blade is only minimally taller than the OG case. You'll want a good wrist rest if you're gonna do SA on a Blade. The Wooting 60 rest fits great for me. (No free ads)
i dont like how deep the wooting wrist rest is tho :/
i'll probably just get a resin or wood wrist rest in the future
Should be fine, that generally why these port holes are made larger
We do it so there’s no chance of the edge hitting against your wrist’s carpal tunnel
no yeah I'm sure it's comfortable and ergonomic just not my style aesthetically
I’d argue the wrist rest is the most ergonomically important part of the keyboard set up. When you get into the custom keyboard space, let’s be honest, a lot of this is just hot aesthetic nonsense at the cost of ergonomics. The Wooting wrist rest is the most comfortable thing I’ve found, but definitely prioritizing comfort. I’m getting older now. So these things matter.
agreed, I was just holding and twisting my wrist while reading that 😄
Never know how old the demo for hot gaming keyboards are, but I can say as an almost 40 year old physician who sees a ton of carpal tunnel cases, ergonomics is key. Custom keyboards are even worse, as it's non-aesthetic to have adjustable feet. Spending too much time in front of the computer, and then trying to get a few hours of gaming in after work -- if I'm gonna go through building an aesthetically optimized board, you gotta find ways to take care of those hands/wrists!
i increase my carpel tunnel chances daily
sitting in weird angles
having super high angles on my keeb
repeating the same motion over and over and over
@umbral totem maybe Alice layout next???
yikes ergo crap
Im one of these people who use my Kb almost vertical, was something I started doing when PC gaming and can't get used to a normal orientation
Angle for reference
oh i was talking about a different angle
i mean the angle u adjust with feet
just
like 90degrees
that way laying your forearms on the desk and type is a real experience
Ahhhh I misunderstood
I'm kidding. I took that overboard. There's no market for that. Too much wasted right sided footprint on an Alice, particularly for mouse+key gaming. I wouldn't even go for it. 60 is perfect.
65 is probably optimal. But to each their own. Remapping and layers makes up for anything found wanting.
no
Yeah mod tap is a lifesaver, I’ve never went less than a TKL before but I can’t see myself going anywhere else other than 60 now
i like the 75% layout of the gmmk pro
once i learned you can remap the shift+ctrl+fn+menu to arrow keys
i no longer need a 65
i never use those keys and right alt can be the FN key
I remap some other keys to the right cluster on a 65 layout for work purposes
I use a GMMK Pro at work, and find it's way too many unused keys.
Print Screen lol
i want those over 100% layouts
@ripe prawn aesthetically tho, it looks super clean
Yeah, I mean, I enjoy it and own one, but my own use/opinion has found it to be extraneous
It's a spectrum though right? Some would say a 40 ortho looks cleanest and I would rather use the stock Dell keyboard than one of those.
no this would look the cleanest
So I did a thing. After pages and pages of you all joking that I would end up with a single key morse code keyboard I finally made it happen.
Well almost. I did cheat by having a single key per hand.
You can order the PCB directly using this link: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/Single_key_keyboard_43be72a3.html
I designed a sin...
Love it
I used mod tap and my function key is right arrow but hold is FN1 layer
Sorry for all the mod spam, I know not everyone cares for it, but last thing I've found
If you want to film, TX films are a bit more generous and forgiving than the goated Deskeys, but still not perfect; it'll work though if you really want to do it
And you can get a closer color match if you care for that
Tyty just received my pack today and haven't been able to try so thank you very much
Anyone know if I could move my 60he into my old Ducky Mecha mini case?

Which pad is this if you don't mind my asking/pinging you
It's the shogun from mousepad company's masterpiece collection
Thanks so much! I'll have to give it a look. I used to use a skypad for years but then I got the eSports one and I think I prefer glass skates on cloth pads in general now
Really nice pad, has awesome glide (especially with the glass feet I got on my mouse) and apparently is pretty resistant to spills too :D
But beware, shipping is rough outside the us
eSports tiger one with the blue lion but just not big enough and I need a full deskoad because I move my keyboard and mouse a lot depending on if I'm typing or gaming
Pad was 60$ and I paid another 35 for shipping
Now I'm using cordura and idk. It's smooth but I think for this kind of speed I'd just use the skypad
Ooooofff yea mousepad that big and heavy I can see that shipping cost
Does anyone know if the height of the Wooting wrist rest still fits when using the Tofu60 case?
20mm or 2cm on the keyboard side of the wrist rest. Check the case height on same side and you can see if it perfectly matches the case.
Otherwise, the wrist rest is made for all mechanical keyboard so it’s really just aesthetics
I think the tofu and the 5° are very similar height overall, just the shape is different and I think the tofu is 6 or 7° typing angle, and my 5° fits really well with the wooting wrist rest
If that helps at all :D
Ok I think that remapping my capslock to function and then using modtap to activate capslock on it was a stroke of genius

and thats me in the UK saying that.
