Worth pinging @umbral totem on this, and maybe delete the photos? Possibly constitutes a data breach which needs reported to local agencies under gdpr. Probably not a hugely serious one as the scope of the breach is currently limited to one person. But they potentially have to report it and inform anyone whose data was sent out etc. Honestly fulfilment center were doing ok I thought but this is a big no no. Not Wootings fault of course, hope it doesn't cause a headache!

changed the case to kbfans low profile aluminium case but the sound was better on the OG case,so confused.
I tried putting 1 layer of electrical tape as well but its still not as good sounding as the OG case

im thinking its something to do with the low profile case that lets the sound out a bit from the sides because its not a perfect fit like the OG case

I lubed all the switches and foamed the case + i used some orings for the tray mount
So it sounds better now for sure, but i dont really have the stock sound in my head since i pretty much changed the case instantly

Now just waiting for the springs so I can lube the switches. Stock feel is pretty smooth, but kind of uneven. Some switches feel different than others.
Not massively, but testing the switches before putting on keycaps, it was noticeable that some were slightly harder going than others
Not really. Slight variance is not unusual, it's nothing you would notice during gaming/typing. Just when you slowly press the switches individually and compare directly.

This is super OCD, but I will batch test the switches (even after lubing) and group them so that even if they feel different, I will put all the similarly feeling switches for the R1 numbers row, and then use the most consistent feeling switches for the alphas, and the most muted switches for the stabilized keys (space, backspace, enter, shift, etc.)
Probably overkill, but if you end of taking them out to lube anyway, it may be worth trying

The Stem, Inside of the center cylinder for the stem on the bottom casing, walls of the bottom casing, and the walls of the upper casing.
Nice clean coat on the casings, a little extra dabs all over the stem except the knob for the keycap. Hard to over-lube since once you put the switch together, you can just click it a handful of times, to catch any excess that comes out.

Also... sound profile... I don't know I've never PE foam modded a STEEL plate board before but it's interesting. Removed EVA Foam to bring out the sound signature more. If anyone was modding it and getting sick of the sound signature remaing the same because of the plate, a food for thought.
ah i tape modded. and for once I used gaffer's tape on this, not electrical tape, the plate doesn't sound good with the higher-end enhanced (which is what electrical tape does and works great on certain boards).

You know I've got quite a few PBT keycap sets.
And while I'd kind of talked mess about the Wooting's default stock keycaps before, especially since getting the board on a pseudo gasket case...
I can't help but notice how almost velvety and soft the stock keycaps are compared to other full price PBT options by comparison (TaiHao, Drop Skyline, Razer, YMDK...)
I know the first thing people like modding are the key caps, but ya'll gotta consider modding AROUND the keycaps, cuse stock keycaps are pretty tight.

Yeah, the Wooting pbt caps are top tier. Really nice finish and really nice and thick walls. Sound signature is really nice. Just wish they had a bunch of colourways, honestly they are so much better quality than almost any other manufacturers that they could make money just doing runs of caps imho.

Worked right out of the box, I just removed the middle stand off, and I had to put a little pressure to it, cause I just reused the foam that came with the 60HE
