I’m not even sure how to describe this issue. The RGB effects turn off and every time it does, windows makes that disconnect/connect sound. It happens a lot when I slam keys together or press down really hard, but it also happens when I’m using the board normally.

It is maybe internal JST cable small disconnect.
Check this one is well connected, it can make this kind of small disconnect/connect when it start to unplug with "perturbation" like huge key press.

That does seem to have resolved the issue, at least for now

#

Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening in the future? I tried my best to make sure that the JST cable was fully inserted when assembling the board last night, and I don't feel like I did much different when I fixed it just now.

Avoid "perturbation", click on key smoothly, don't move too much the keyboard.

Or keep screwdriver & keycap remover near you..

It happen in "rare case"

Hopefully it is rare, I would hate having to disassemble the keyboard every day
