Is the keyboard plugged directly into the motherboard?
yes
Try a different port
I figured it out. I had to disassemble the keyboard and adjust the foam between the plate and board
this helped with the issue but there is one thing that annoys me or is this normal. Once I start typing on the board it doesn't fully reset while tacyon mode is on
its now 0.18 but it goes away once I unplug and replug in the keyboard
this is while its out of its case
That isn't normal. Does it come back after the replug?
No, it goes away which is weird
Was probably messed up calibration, if it goes away after the replug and doesn't come back.
I’ll have to monitor it and hope it goes away permanently. But the other note, the foams for the V2 isn’t compatible with the mounting system of the owlabs case 🤦♂️
Case foam and silicone or what do you mean?
The foam and also silicone/foam filler that came with the V2 board doesn’t allow any space for the mounting rubber from the owlabs case
And the foam from the owlabs doesn’t fit the mounted stabilizers on the V2 board which causes spaces to form and stress the screws
So i cant upgrade my owlabs from the V1 to the V2 board
Sorry, I'm confused now :D Did you get split v2?
Full spacebar
Then everything should be compatible
Let me see if I can find a picture of the mounting style
It uses the sandwich because there no foam filling up to the edge of the plate and board so the rubber can slot in between
Did you install this poron sandwich pad instead of silicone friction fit pad between the PCB and plate?
Yes
Should I have used the friction instead of the poron? And replace the owlabs friction mounting system with the new one from wooting?
No, if you want to use Owlab mounting, you need to replace friction fit pad with poron, then install plate and rubber around the module. After this remove the pre-installed v2 tape mod and apply Owlab sticky foam pad. Everything should fit perfectly.
The poron that was provided by owlabs or the poron that was sent with the V2 board
v2 module poron sandwich pad
the extra foam you get in the box
I have that on right now but it leaves no gap
Let me disassemble the keyboard right now
And take pics
you need to replace everything in the entire kit with owlab stuff if you want to use all the original owlab pieces
you essentially only use our pcb and that's it if you want to use the owlab parts
Problem with that, the foam that was sent by owlabs doesn’t fit over the screw in stablizers
that's odd, it's the same screw ins as v1
so sizing there should be no different, we didn't change the stabilizers
I was also confused let me sent a pic of it
yeah please do. I'm not sure why your foam isn't fitting as the stabilizers aren't changed for the v2
if they fit your v1 they should fit the v2
you do need to swap one standoff over in your plate though if that's what is causing your incompatibility
The standoffs aren’t causing any issue from what I saw when changing it over
then i'm very confused because we didn't touch the stabilizers
they should be exactly the same size as the ones in your v1
honestly speaking though unless you're specifically wanting to use the cf plate I'd just drop the entire module pre assembled into the owlab case, the rest of the owlab mods are the same as what we have stock in the v2 already
so it's mostly just for the cf plate if you want to do the swap of all the foams/internal bits
Ok so I have the original foam from owlabs
you basically need to strip your v2 module down to same as your v1 module, so none of our mods if you want to use owlab kit fully
wait are those stock stabs?
is that the owlab foam?
well if their foam doesn't fit with another stab not much we can do there because their foam was cut to fit our stabs
if you want you could modify their foam i suppose but everything is sized for our parts, not some 3rd person parts that you added
I used staibies
I'd just cut the foam, if you want to use those stabilizers
Do Staebies even fit the Owlab plate? They're too thick
They do besides the foam issue
honestly though what you should do is just reassemble the module if you like your current stabs more
unless you want to cut the foam to fit
because you could just re-assemble module with fr4 kit and staebies and drop it friction fit into owlab case
then i'm not sure where the issue is, does it actually cause issues if you use the foam now?
you take those out
again - if you want to use the owlab parts you literally need to strip your pcb down to just the module like your v1
you cannot use any of our additions with owlab parts
they have their own fit and solution for that
all those rubber knobs are removable, you just pull them out
I managed to fit it
if you want to use the foam under the pcb you need to remove those rubber bumpers at the bottom anyway
