Hi gang, was wondering if I could get a little help with my the Wooting Two that has offered me almost 5 years of service at this point
Basically, the keyboard is intermittently spiking an "S" input. The input IS showing it in the software as a microsecond of ~2-2.5 actuation, and it's seemingly at random, sometimes it'll be whilst typing, but sometimes it'll be when both hands are off the keyboard, the RGB is doing nothing and I'm watching a video, sometimes its a few times an hour, sometimes it's a spam of 10 in a couple of seconds
I've done a successful Restore and Reset, so it doesn't seem to be software, I will state that I'm on the Beta though.
I know it's not the switches, because I've moved them around a bunch as the more used keys (WASD, Function Keys, Space etc) got worn out and stopped having such good feel, and this latest problem is following the S-Key specifically, not the switch.
I'm not delusional, I know that a keyboard bought in late 2019 isn't going to get warranty support, and trust me I'm planning on buying a new one later this year (Surviving 5 years of working full-time WFH as a Games QA is a pretty good run) but this issue is really starting to get annoying and I'd like to limp a few more months out of it.
I find sometimes that unplugging it and physically shaking it can make the issue go away for a while, so i'm wondering if there's dirt or something in the optical detector bit of the PCB, but I really do have no idea how these old optical switches work, and whilst i'm happy opening the keyboard up and going inside with IPA and a Q-Tip, I'd prefer to not be going in blind
Any advice would be helpful,
Cheers
