#Double input

When I type words like contact, subtract, things that end with "ct", either my c or t will double input. Like into subtracdt, or contactd, subtractt. And I could duplicate this 80 - 90% of the time. Even at this moment where I'm typing now, as long as I type them continuously from key to key without pausing or making very deliberate distinctive keypress the typos occurs.

I have tried

  • changing the switches. -- Disassembling and reassembling
  • setting the actuation point to max 4mm for "t" key
  • setting the actuation point to max 4mm for "d" key (it does kinda fix it but still happens sometimes)

Do you have rapid trigger enabled?

#

yes

#

but I have all keys with rapid trigger enabled, and only d, and t got the problem

#

specifically in the sequence of 'ct'

#

at first I thought I was fat fingering but I have tried repeating typing subtract contact etc. same word over and over again, look at my finger making sure I don't touch the 'd' button at all, but the d still appears somehow

#

actually I've just tried turning off the rapid trigger and I still get it quite frequently

Hmm, maybe a debounce issue?

lapis jungle
#

another one that I spam contact and subtract continuously back to back

#

so should I try the debounce filter?

#

but why the debounce only happens to d and t?

#

also the debounce filter where can I activate it?

stark bluff
#

Are these you pressing the D key fully?

#

It might be easier to see if you only press the 2 affected keys

lapis jungle
#

the subtract and contact both words don't have d presses at all

#

somehow it just happens from time to time when I type continuously with the word ending in "ct"

stark bluff
#

It's showing D being pressed

#

But only very briefly and not too far

lapis jungle
#

exactly, even when I meticulously looking at my fingers to make sure I don't touch the d

#

it still happens

#

but as mentioned above, if I set the actual point of d all the way to 4mm it kinda goes away

lapis jungle
#

is there any sort of hardware fault that can make pressing one key affecting its neighboring key? and this is mainly for 'd' only

#

for t I'm not sure how it double input sometimes too

lapis jungle
#

hmm, mine is not to the point that it activates everytimes I press c, but it happens from time to time following certain pattern like "ct"

#

I just hope it's me fat fingering

#

but even if I take a step back and let's say 'd' comes from fat fingering, how to solve the 't' double inputting sometimes?

stark bluff
#

It would be hard to fat finger the key to 4mm without noticing (unless totally missing C and hitting only D for example)

lapis jungle
#

when the actuation point is 4mm the d doesn't appear anymore, but at the same time because it's a full press, what happens is when I might miss the d input sometimes when I type fast since not all key press I bottom out all the way to 4mm

stark bluff
#

I nudge nearby keys when I type on my 2HE sometimes but I don't think I've seen them actuate more than 0.3mm from that (which is way below my 1.4mm threshold). I don't think I have any more suggestions at the moment, you could wait and see what others say and/or reach out to the official support for help
