#Remove switches before installing Friction Fit

I'm following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvMwijZU-L0 (Timestamp 5:43 / 8:33) and it kinda skips over taking off caps and switches. If you have the caps on your meant to take them off but it doesnt say anything about the switches.

I currently have the switches installed would it be better to take them out before unscrewing the PCB
