Just a guess if you use the friction mount:
Maybe the metal sponge in the top left corner isnt making proper contact, so the keyboard is not grounded. Not guaranteed, but that could result in a short.
Darn. I can see that the USBc is contacting it, and with the whole keyboard lighting up and being recognized it seems like it should be working. I am going to try swapping back to the original switches and see if that is the issue
original switches work... weird
Which switches did you buy as replacement?
hmm never heard of these, maybe try asking in #🔧│keyboard_modding if these are compatible, because I dont know
