#Issue with Wooting Two HE RGB Lighting – Pink Instead of White

Hi Wooting Team,

I’m experiencing an issue with my Wooting Two HE keyboard's RGB lighting. When I try to set the RGB to white, certain keys turn pink instead. The affected keys are: 1, 2, 3, Enter, comma, period, semicolon, and the letter "L".

I’ve already tried updating the keyboard firmware, but the issue persists. I've had this keyboard for about 3 years now, and I’m not sure what else to try. I’ve also attached a picture showing the problem.

Could someone assist me with this?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
[Milan]

check with pure red, green and blue on the affected keys to see if any color may be missing specifically. if all 3 work individually on those keys then its most likely a color correction issue

This might be an LED matrix issue, but I am unsure how the Two HE is connected to check if that string of LEDs is on the same trace.

you might need to take apart the keyboard and check if there is anything wrong with the resistor or LED controller chip like corrosion or something on them.
As for which resistor, I would need to know the schematic to cross-reference.

When the keyboard is a bit older, and the PCB does not have the water-resistant coating due to its age, it might be best to open it up and inspect the following:

  • LED Controller IC for any corrosion.
  • As for which resistor to check, it's a bit harder to say as there are over a hundred, I believe.
  • You could also cross-check if you still have the problem when the PCB has been removed from the case. In some cases, the foam can absorb moisture, and this could be causing a short if there is high enough humidity.

Got it, I'll go ahead and do that now. Thanks for the guidance!

might want to inspect this area
i would recommend a high amount of light aswell to better see anything

I don’t see anything weird no moisture or anything else

So this looks like a possible bridge between the Green and Red traces making contact with each other.

I recommend checking the images below, and if you have a soft brush and some IPA, give these locations a clean in case this resolves the problem.

As this bridge can occur in multiple locations, there are a few points to check.
