Hi, I just got my JiS 80HE and I was trying my own 4.5u spacebars but the stems and stabilizers don't line up at all. I have 2 diferent 4.5u keycaps from diiferent brands and their stem positions are exactly the same. I tried to do some research on 4.5u bars but i couldn't find anything about different 4.5u stem positions. I'd like to know if wooting is using non-standard 4.5u bars or its just mine that aren't standard.

Just some bad pictures to hopefully show the difference. In the right picture, you can kinda see how far off the right stem is if the left stem is alligned with the stabilizer
it's 2025 but I have similar question - why do I have 3 spacebars in the package (I guess they are very special?) and how to find compatible backlit keycaps with 80HE JIS
ok, I found the answer:
https://x.com/WootingKB/status/1852382601866006841
@u_hikarun We developed the JIS layout 4.5u spacebar based on the same standards used for the modifier keys and larger spacebar (6.25u, 7u). These standards include the location of the Stems that sit on the switch.
We realize now, however, that a lot of 3rd party sets follow FILCO, and
You kind of... don't find compatible keycaps.
at all?
in that case I need wooting to make a JIS backlit keycaps, seems these don't exist as well :)
Hmmm, it seems I found a keyboard that uses the same layout / space size
With the name "realforce gx1",
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71fdIqkClDL.jpg
bottom row has the same key size and seems stabilizers are on the edge of spacebar
the only question how do I find these keycaps now
also I wonder why they got exactly the same layout, according to pulsar plus various keyboards I used before - "the standard" is 4.25, not 4.5
hm, there is also a chance I don't quite get the problem here.
I though that space is significantly different, that they use the same space for 4.25 and 4.5u spacebars.
But seems it is not the case and:
in that case the difference between wooting and filco is less than 5mm, about 2mm probably
at least my measurements give me about 67mm
The switch and keycap stem sockets are offset.
yes, but the question is "how much", is it something obvious or is it couple of millimeters
if it is couple of millimeters that means whole comparison with gx1 is wrong and I can't determine by the photo if they are the same and share the same spacebar, as result gx1-compatible keycaps I found are not it
And it seems the answer is "couple of millimeters" indeed.
