can you take a picture of the entire wootility while on the "Remap" tab to better see what is bound
@muted abyss
nothing stands out there
if you use the site
https://config.qmk.fm/#/test
dose it say ESC is pressed or page break?
QMK Configurator is an online tool used for easily creating firmware files for keyboards supported in qmk_firmware
hmmm.. also seems fine....
last point i can think of if you have any macro software or anything that could be causing this but should of shown in that test
when dose the problem happen like all the time only in game or certain games or applications
all browsers
then how did you get the screenshot in qmk configurator
prnt screen key
yes but you pressed esc
and it showed as esc
the website uses your browser to identify the keys
i only showed the part i pressed the ESC key
the issue is with "page back" key i not the printscreen i belive
im aware. what im getting at is the browser knows its not page back
otherwise the website would have not shown esc
oooh yea... oops
so my best guess is its only specific websites
not like esc has a function usually in browsers
all browsers
doesnt matter if im on windows, linux or whatever. any browsers gives me, by pressing ESC, a page back
ok thats operating systems
which browser
chrome? firefox? vivaldi?
opera?
edge?
any you can name
changing keyboard profiles via Wootility doesnt make a difference, just mentioning
can you send the share code for your top most wootility profile?
7d899b48e8f623b9f80377d6dda2b5ed0e19
have you tried goign through the troubleshoot in the wootility settings?
I did not (yet)
pls copy the profiles you dont wanna lose if any and do so
in a few mins
unplug and plug my keyboard after this again makes my keyboard functional again and it's reset but the ESC key is still giving the page back on any browser

@muted abyss
odd the restore could not complete the restart process
- Step 5 restarts the keyboard and should restart with the new firmware
so there is 2 test you can preform to check if this is isolate to the current computer
-
use another computer
-
Running the computer in Safe mode
- This will disable all none windows software and see if this is caused by background applications
I can try that in 30 min
just for info, i never had the issue with other keyboards before
@muted abyss using it on another pc (laptop in this case) elimiated the issue but I need the keyboard to be 100% functional on the pc
option 2. Not tested yet but can do that if you wish me to do so
try the safe mode. if another pc works that would indicate you have something interfering with the esc key running on your pc
@tall creek alright, used safe mode on PC and the ESC doesnt have a page back issue then.
But, if i use another keyboard then i dont have the issue either but with wooting HE2 only (when not using safe mode) so i'm sure it's something interfering with the keyboard's software during browsing
has to be at this point. is safe mode and thw wooting together dont have the issue its 100% software. safemode basically only starts the necessary things and nothing else.
why it would only affect the wooting but not other keyboards idk but at this point its 100% confirmed to be some sort of software issue
caused in combination with the wooting keyboard since I dont have that happening with other keyboard on the said machine
yes but that is most likely just some software which only responds to the wooting esc and adding in an additional page back
it's frustrating
did you already try closing programs running in the background 1 by 1 and seeing when it starts working?
yes, I did
has any program cause this of the ones you tried to kill?
theres also https://github.com/ITachiLab/hotkey-detective/releases which can tell you which program is listening to keyboard inputs and would thus tell you what probably sends the page back when you dont want it to
basically download the program, run it as admin then press esc
