Hi I was considering buying the JIS version because the smaller space bar and bottom row keys would be useful for me and I never really use right shift anyways.

JIS has Shift + 2 = "
ANSI has Shift + 2 = @ which is what I want to keep.
Optimally I'd like to keep the normal ANSI key behaviors.

The JIS keycap set does have the ANSI version of this key but I was wondering about the software side of things.

1. Will Shift + 2 on the JIS keyboard output @ if my Windows keyboard setting is set to English (United States)?
2. Is there a workaround for this using Wootility or Windows otherwise?

After more digging I'm pretty sure the answer is yes you can.

When set to JIS mode using the English (United States) keyboard setting respects the standard ANSI keys like @ on 2
