I would like to contact you today regarding a problem I am having with my Wooting 60HE keyboard. Recently it no longer turns on properly when connected to my computer, just making a sound without fully turning on.

I tried several solutions such as changing USB ports and checking connectivity, but the problem persists. My keyboard is still under warranty, and I would like to know what steps to take to resolve this issue. Would it be possible to obtain technical assistance or replacement if necessary?

For your reference, here are my keyboard details:

Model: Wooting 60HE

The noise you hear when the keyboard is connected but unresponsive most likely indicates that the keyboard is detected as "Wooting Restore." You can check this by either:

  • Going to "Bluetooth & devices" and looking for a device listed as "Wooting Restore"
  • Checking "Device Manager," selecting "View," then "Devices by container," and checking for any device listed as "Wooting Restore"

If the keyboard is detected as "Wooting Restore," you can perform a keyboard restore to check if this is caused by corrupted firmware. I'll include instructions below on how to do this.

(Note: If the device is listed as an error or warning, please take a picture of this and reply back with the image)

To perform a restore you can follow these steps

  • Please note that the keyboard wont be detected by the front end of wootility but it will be detect in "Settings > Troubleshoot" when you restore

  • if you keyboard is detected as "Wooting Restore you can skip step 1-4)

  1. Unplug the keyboard.
  2. Hold down the two keys for your model (Refer to the image).
  3. Plug the keyboard back in.
  4. Let go of the keys after 3-4 seconds.
  5. Go to Wootility.
  6. Settings.
  7. Troubleshooting.
  8. Select your Device.
  9. Select your layout.
  10. Select "Reset Device".

If the restore fails at a certain step can you mention at what step or provid an image to help narrow down the cause)

if the steps above don't resolve the problem, this may indicate a physical issue. If interested, I can direct message the link to the official guide on the matter.

If you run into any complicated issues or your Wooting keyboard is not responding, one of the first things you can give a shot is restoring your keyboard in the Wootility.

hi my friend thank you for your response after posting my message my Wooting started to press all the keys at the same time and lit the LEDs. So I started looking for the problem for a long time, and finally found it. I followed the tutorial in the link below and so far it works. I don't know if you have an explanation for the tutorial, I don't know why it worked, but in any case it works.

# honest sierra and yes sorry I already tried the factory reset first ERROR code was (disconnect...

ahh the guide is the physical problem I mentioned before
in this case it seems to have resolved the problem so your problem was indeed related to that

to explain the problem further

The protective film, the solder mask, that covers the PCB was scratched in a way that exposed the copper trace to the air. In this case, it appears the trace that transmits the data for the right side of the keyboard was making contact with a screw or another trace. This can happen if pressure is applied or if moisture helps bridge the connection, causing the current problem.

With the area dried and the tape applied, it should act as the solder mask, protecting and isolating the traces from making contact with other conductive materials again and resolve the problem.
