@subtle grotto i have same problem and Simon can be interessed about data concerning this problem .

Regarding the keycap part, I would recommend removing the keycap and pressing the stem directly just to test if the bounce occurs.

I pinged Simon earlier, thinking that this was possibly firmware-related, but if the keycaps can play a factor, then that would change my conclusion.

Is the keycap a complete set or only a few select keycaps? also do you have a link ?

#

In that case, I don't believe this is keycap-related, considering all the testing you have done and it still occurs.

My guess goes back to firmware-related, which I can't really assist with. It's best to wait for a response from Simon if they have any ideas (currently it's the weekend, so they may not respond for a while).

Simon is investigating about the double click issue .some firmware update improve or deteriorate the problem so i think that can be fix with a firmware update

frank wyvern
#

have you tried beta firmware

frank wyvern
#

jades work fine if you set it to 4mm

dark cipher
#

From the video, it seems to have some shock wobble (not sure what to call it) when it returns to the top position.

If you remove the keycap and press the switch by itself, does the double press still occur?

#

same problem and only 2.7.2 stable firmware fix it but this firmware is not optimal on others things.in my case when i disable rapid trigger the problem is reduced by a lot

Interesting

How do you install beta firmware?

dark cipher
#

@subtle grotto Just checking, mate. Do you have any third-party stabilizers installed? And if so, do you have a link?

As I've just been made aware that can be a factor.

dark cipher
#

This is some extensive testing there, mate.

#

@stuck holly i thought you might be interested in this data
(stock 60HE+ screw in stabilizers)

#

With how common this occurs with the spacebar / keycap, might be related to what Thockfather was talking about earlier regarding stabilizers (the odd thing is this occurs with the stock ones).

And there was a point when grease was applied to the stab that seemed to temporarily minimize the problem.

There is nothing to be OCD about. If you are concerned that the when the Jades are fully compressed that your spacebar hasn't, don't sweat it. If however placebo affect bothers you and/or you want to resolve this issue, just put some o-rings on the stabilizer stems like this. TX AP stabs do not have a reliable success rate at this time. I would instead suggest ordering the Gateron Long-Pole stabilizers instead (these are called Gateron Silver Stabilizers)

#

It's worth a shot, especially with the Jades. I would also look into testing with rapid trigger enabled, go to advanced settings and enable/turn down the release sensitivity. Try with setting it to the max (all the way left) and then work on moving it to the right.

#

If you live in the US you can also find the stabilizers on Amazon

#

yes sir

#

Yeah, to confirm if its with the bounce, its the release point we would want to adjust and not the actuation point. By turning that down a bit we can then eliminate it being a key press. So turn this on and then this down to 2mm or higher

#

Yes and if that helps, you can try sliding it back to the right, although I dont suggest setting it super low

#

Can you swap to a different switch in the spacebar as well? We can also rule out any issues with the magnet

#

The monitor software, I believe, reads the raw analog sensor data.

I don't believe the settings done in "Wootility" will affect it?

stuck holly
#

What Im saying is, while you might still see a bounce signal in the graph, you wont experience a double tap/click in use with the changed value in wootility

dark cipher
#

Oh, the Monitor Key activation/release (Green/red) indicator.
Not sure if that data point uses:

  • When the computer detects the press
  • When the keyboard activates
stuck holly
#

Rapid trigger can be set per key by clicking on Set Per Key Rapid Trigger (clarifying, it can be enabled/disabled per key but the settings are universal)

dark cipher
#

No problem, mate. This one has been bothering me for a while trying to find the cause/answer.

stuck holly
#

It shows up when you type? So if you type a sentence you end up with double spaces?

#

Try gaming with the new setting and see if it happens, there isnt enough bounce happening to retrigger the key with the slider set at 2mm. You might see it show as chatter (vibration happens) but it shouldnt be enough to present a new keypress.

#

I have my spacebar set at 1mm in my FPS profile and other keys like L-WIN set to 4mm or L-Shift set to 2.8, just because where my fingers rest

#

nothing worse than an unintended jump when brushing the spacebar or releasing walk when your finger rocks

#

Same lol

#

Maybe I misunderstood but you said it happens when pressing space or holding it down. So setting the slider to the left would prevent it from actuating again until it has released 2mm up. If the actuation issue is happening at the top of the key, then yes you would need to adjust the actuation setting.

#

Also, just from a best practice standpoint, I would have your 2nd profile set as a typing profile so that you can Fn1 + Enter and switch between a typing profile or a gaming profile.

#

Same 🙂

young nimbus
#

Did you speak with wooting Simon about your problem?

frank wyvern
#

Recently when I got jades I experienced double click on my R and G keys which was fixed with beta 5 update

young nimbus
#

Cause he is collecting date and working to resolve my double or triple click issue on my spacebar

stuck holly
#

Also, its worth noting, for switches like Jades, there is a firmware in the works that will allow you to select your switch type. I dont have an ETA on that for you but it's coming.

young nimbus
#

Ok i understand but i hope he will come here cause we have not exactly the same cause i think but we have both double or triple click issue

stuck holly
#

They are selling Jades on the main site with the 80HE now so I'm quite positive it'll be released before the switches start shipping.

The only difference we have is i can reduce the double click issue when i disable rapid trigger and ilsalmeron can reduce the problem when up the actuation point

I link him this thread

Sorry Phone language tool 😉 ilsalmeron

Try

#

No sir

dark cipher
frank wyvern
#

why are the lines like that

#

also shouldnt red thingies be up like this

dark cipher
frank wyvern
#

Yea i know but the screenshot above looks weird to me 🤷

#

i also have jades

#

maybe those cut lines are software bug but idk about those red triangles, if you have set rt to 0.15 and youre instantly releasing key after you bottom out they should be up like it is on my screenshot

#

Maybe its normal, but doesnt look like it to me

#

try pressing the key and as soon as you bottom out release it and screenshot

#

4.7.3 beta 5

#

Cant rn, will check tomorrow

#

youre instantly releasing key when you bottom out?

#

software says that youre releasing at 3.25mm

#

on previous screenshots too

#

When I instantly release the key its at 3.8 3.85mm
