If for whatever reason my keyboard gets disconnected (cleaning for example) and i reconnect it the keyboard lights up but input does not work at all.

the only thing that fixes it is a full pc restart this wasn't much of an issue before but now im playing Elden Ring for example and the only way i can get the game to use my controller is by launching the game with my keyboard unplugged. So if i plug my keyboard back in afterwards i always have to restart my pc this is very annoying hoping someone here has a fix

When the keyboard disconnects, it is best to check the state of the keyboard, as it may be in Restore mode or driver-related, or not detected by the computer.

To find out in Windows, you can use one of the two methods below:

  1. Device Manager

    • Click on the "Start" button in the taskbar
    • Type in "Device Manager"
      • Select View
        • Select View by container
  2. Bluetooth & devices

    • Click on the "Start" button in the taskbar
    • Type in "Settings"
      • Select Bluetooth & devices
        • Select "Devices"
          • It should be under the category "Other devices"

Please tell me if the device is listed; it may have one of the following names:

  • Wooting (Two He / 60HE / UwU)
  • Wooting Restore
  • Not listed

This is very odd that the keyboard becomes completely unresponsive after replugging in the device, and I'm not sure what is causing that as the "HID keyboard Device" is detected and no error is being shown.

I'll mention on the controller side, to avoid the need for replugging the keyboard to prioritize other controllers, I would suggest disabling the keyboard's gamepad functions. You can disable the keyboard gamepad function in Wootility under:

  • Settings
  • Keyboard settings
  • Gamepad Mode
  • Select "No gamepad"

This will make the keyboard no longer be detected as a gamepad, so it won't be prioritized by the computer.

Just checking, is the keyboard is plugged into any USB hub or KVM, and if so could you plug the keyboard directly into the back of the computer and see if that helps resolve the problem?

Sorry, just realized with the previous picture that it was shown that you disabled the Gamepad on the keyboard.

I am not familiar with Elden Ring, so this is just me throwing out a random idea, so I'm not sure if this will help, but you could attempt to make a copy of the game settings to a separate folder, then delete the original and relaunch the game to generate the files again and see if that helps.
my guess is the game saved the previous state of the keyboard when it had the gamepad drivers.

Otherwise, I am stumped and not sure of a solution.

Just checking, does the issue only occur inside Elden Ring? Does the keyboard work outside of it?
