Oh its definitely cheating, but from my understanding the reason it doesn't outright get banned is because it can be used with 3rd party devices for people with physical disabilities.

i can name you a handful of games that are very hard to cheat on because there's practically no point in doing it

You can't cheat in Barotrauma because everything is server authoritative + you have to be a moron in order to not be able to aim toward an enemy

same with Factorio

DMA attacks are 'still' possible specially on legacy Operating Systems. W11 upwards it is way more difficult. Wait until Kernel DMA is a pre-requisite for yet to release Operating Systems, and then those hacks with two PCs are gone
