quick question
when the keyboard crashes is wootility running in the background ?
or multiple software that could be connecting to keyboard at once as if there is more than 1 could be causing it to crash
im unsure how the rgb can crash as that would mean the keyboard would crash,
If the rgb is not supplied by an external program it is run by the MCU (which runs everything on the keyboard) so it cant really crash on its own.
i had a few keyboard cashs where if i run both
artemis rgb
wootility
it would connect/disconnect multiple times and after 4-6 secs the keyboard would crash and become unresponsive
no change in rgb or no response from key press
only fix was to power cycle (unplug)
yeah thats what i mean with it would crash all together not just the rgb.
if just the RGB gets messed up its either that the profile changes, another layer gets locked or the rgb app used crashed/hangs
ahh my mistake you mentioned this in you're post
I miss read things too often
its okay were all human. time to wait for more details from OP
not the Keyboard crashes, only lighting. wootility is NOT running. Yesterday i startet wootility, an update was made, reset after fw flash fixed it also. these 4 or 5 rgb´s in the second pic is the "crash - state" this pattern is not my choice
so just to get a timeline right
1.you preformed a firmware update to the keyboard
2. problems started to occur with the Lighting
3, preformed a reset
4. preformed anouther Firmware update/Flashed and it fixed it
is you'r problem resolved now ? or still happening just to check
problem occur - ignored a few days, problem occured again - replug a few times, problem occur yesterday - i startet wootility, problem occured today - i postet this thread
ok
can you preform a restore
may be a case of a bad Firmware update
- Unplug keyboard
- Hold down the two keys [MR] / [Numpad Enter] so that would be the top right and Bottom right keys (Image for reference)
- plug the keyboard back in
- let go of the keys after 3-4 secs
- go to wootility
- Settings
- Troubleshooting
- Select you'r layout
- Restore

If you run into any complicated issues or your Wooting keyboard is not responding, one of the first things you can give a shot is restoring your keyboard in the Wootility.

bad FW update, 2 times in a row? but yeah i´l try it
a cool, my profiles all gone, perfect
sorry i forget to mention to back up profiles
ive had that pattern on the right many times when testing rgb stuff. sometimes i force kill artemis for convenience and that pattern is left like that. usb replug is the only fix afaik
