The PCB is coated against minor spills, except in these two areas, that need to be left conductive. Please ensure both are dry and wiped clean of anything before trying to power it back on.

This two area are both very dry now. Should i try to power it back?

Sure.

it always doesn’t work. What should I do now?

@distant ridge do you spot water damage?

While there isn't any close up for the USB area and on the two pictures where it's seen it's out of focus and don't has a good quality but to me it looks very bad.

#

Of course this can just be an illusion.
So a close up picture of the USB area would be welcome.

Sure, I will upload more clearly photos tomorrow. Thanks for the response.

That USB c port pins looks like corrosion/gunk what did you clean it with?

distant ridge
#

Nothing to add here...

yeah thats fried

kindred flicker

That's not really known yet would need to clean port pins to see if so

For that reason Wooting didn't claim to be water resistant. Looks like there wasn't taken any care after the accident.

#

Not sure if cleaning with isopropanol is enough at this point. I can imagine that the connector maybe needs to be reflown.

Just checking would a heavy dose of ipa 99 be enough seems like a resolder at.... You answered that nvm

I assume this isn't covered under warranty. But if cleaning didn't help you can still contact Wooting. At least they can offer you just the PCBA.
Otherwise a repair shop should be able to fix that, but these can get costly. A repair cafe maybe isn't skilled enough and / or don't have the proper tools.

mystic bolt

That definitely looks very corroded.

So - Practical solutions. We obviously can't cover this under warranty, BUT we can provide a replacement PCBA at cost (roughly 95€)

Which I'm not sure if a repairshop will be able to beat in hourly costs for trying to clean up the traces and maybe replace the USB port (provided the shorts haven't fried additional components on the PCBA)

Shoot us an email at social@wooting.io , if you'd be interested in a replacement board, and be sure to link this thread in the mail.

For reference, how it should look like.

Firstly, thanks all of you . Thank you for your help and patience. I know it is my responsibility. And I want ask : can it be repaired in your Chinese factory or should it be shipped to Netherland.

there tends to be local places that can do repair jobs like that but the cost could be higher than the board replacement and even then it is unknown if the PCB still works incase it was permanently damage not just the USB port

As mentioned, a repair shop or cafe maybe can help. Otherwise you need to find some private individual who has the equipment and want to do it. For example I have everything which is needed to resolder the connector but I'm not that skilled.
I also don't offer such a repair. I also live in Germany so it's likely not worth it to send the PCBA over.

okay ,understand.

This so say, I would be interested in the board. But mostly for parts and so I can try to repair it on my own risk. So I have another board to tinker around with.
